Summary

Ten years ago, my high school crush found me during senior finals week in the student parking lot with my car decorated with items you find behind a drugstore counter and a "Most Likely to..." banner that would make a pro blush. And by "pro", I don't mean golf.

In under an hour, everything I knew about myself was turned upside down and inside out, just as our high school career was in its final hours.

Then again, he's the high school quarterback. He's used to performing when the clock's running out.

Me? I perform well under pressure, too.

But not when Will Lotham is about to kiss me.

Or is he?

Little Miss Perfect is a prequel to the events that take place in Fluffy, New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent's new book.

Prequel Novella for the book Fluffy

Another hilarious story from Julia Kent's Do-Over series. This novella is the prequel to the book 'Fluffy' and is the early high school days for the characters Mallory and Will.

Like the main novel - Fluffy - this audiobook is absolutely hilarious, and really ads some depth and background to the action that follows on in that book.

Although only a short story, there was some laugh-out-loud moments for me, with some very witty banter between these two characters. I thought it was an excellent addition to this series.

Erin Mallon provided the excellent narration as she has done in other books in this series.

A great tease of the story to come.

This is just a quick tease of the main book to come and sets up the story with a look a look at how the main characters acted when they were at high school. Told from Mallory's point of view this is a glimpse at the last day of school, it's narrated well and gives us a sense of what the characters are like.

It was an easy short listen and it sets you up nicely before going straight into the next book which is set ten years on from this.

Too short but brilliant!

This book really starts the “Do Over” series off.  I actually listened to Fluffy before this book the first time round. But listening to this book first, this time round, gives me a little more insight into Mallory and Will.
So truly funny and just a brilliant taster of what’s to come!
Erin Mallon is just perfect for these comedic roles.  Her timing is just spot on and her simple yet brilliant style is just ingenious!

Funny, quirky, and an eventful ride

It’s a prequel novella, so of course, it was short. But the style and mood are already here. It’s funny, quirky, and being in Mal’s head is an eventful ride.

I loved that this prequel was just a moment frozen in time, where two people who have nothing in common, who are basically academic rivals–and with one pining for the other–have a meaningful conversation. Interrupted by weird friends and ‘colorful’ events.

The narrator brings Mallory’s exuberant character to life, and masters the pace and voice for the comedic elements.

An interesting beginning for this series.

So well named

This book was so well named because it was simply perfect, Julia Kent has this amazing way of bringing humour in at perfect times without substituting heat and storyline. I also loved the narration the voices and the inflections were spot on

Full of laughs

Excellent prequel about Mallory and her fixation with fellow student Will.
With friends like hers who needs enemies. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Quite a tease

This is what prequel novellas are supposed to do. Tease the main event. And Little Miss Perfect did exactly that. This was 80 pages set on the last day of exams in high school. Mallory needs a text book and runs into her high school crush, who are both battling for valedictorian.

I have a feeling that Fluffy is going to be their not really but kinda delayed HEA.

I'm so glad I have this entire series to binge. I love Erin Mallon and she really brought Mallory to life.

Quick, enjoyable story

It’s the prequel to the do-over-series by Julia Kent and it was very enjoyable to listen to it.
The characters are very likable and I can’t wait to listen to the other stories of that series.
Julia has a great style of writing and I just love her humor. The narration was done perfect!
I would definitely recommend that audiobook.
This audiobook was given to me for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fun Novella!

Little Miss Perfect by Julia Kent is an introduction to some great characters. Mallory gets introduced to us in this book (along with her crush Will), and she goes on to have her own story in Fluffy. Perky is her friend Persephone, and I believe Feisty is Fiona. This is a fun short listen that is a standalone. Thank you Audiobook Obsession for recommending this book. I loved it! Erin Mallon is such a fantastic voice for this series. She gives the characters distinguishable voices and is amazing at the banter!

A fun prequel novella to Fluffy

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3.5 stars

Little Miss Perfect is a short and funny prequel to Fluffy. It introduces us to Will, Mallory, and her friends, and takes place on the last day of their senior year in high school. Will and Mallory share a stolen moment in the parking lot before their last final exam, and they realize that there's much more to the other than they thought. It's sweet and all kinds of teenage awkward as these two dance around each other. It just scratches the surface of who these characters are, and though it's not necessary to listen to/read this prior to Fluffy, it does add a fun extra layer to the story.

The novella is told entirely from Mallory's POV and Erin Mallon couldn't have been more perfectly cast. She captures Mallory's quirkiness, vulnerability, and confusion so well, but also does an amazing job voicing Will. She is one of the few narrators who I enjoy hearing both her male and female voices.

I'm excited to find out what happens to Will and Mallory 10 years later in Fluffy!

Loved it!

If you are looking for a good rom-com, you will find it in this prequel to Fluffy.

Mallory and Will are in their last weeks of high school and both fighting for the title of valedictorian. Little Miss Perfect takes us through them graduating and going their separate ways. You can meet back up with them in 10 years with the next book...Fluffy.

This book/audio is packed with all of the banter and humor that Julia Kent is known for. The story is told from Mallory’s point of view and Erin Mallon does a spectacular job! I laughed all the way through this book!

Cute and Funny

For the brainy girl that was awkward in high school that was love struck by the quarter back that didn't know she existed, 10 years later she meets Will Lothom again.

Time flashes back to the awkward moments and reliving the past and all the peer pressure of years ago.

Erin Mallon execute this story with mean girl excellence, and the fantastic timing to tickle your funny bone.

Cute and Funny Prequel!

I really enjoyed this quick, and entertaining prequel to Fluffy. In short order, Julia Kent made me totally fall for Will and Mallory. Their sweet, and awkward encounter was hilarious, and I loved how they connected after being in totally different circles all thru high school. They realized there was so much more about each other that they never considered and now really liked. Erin Mallon did a great job embodying these characters and setting the stage for all the fun and excitement to come. I love having this backstory and know it will only make listening to Fluffy even better!
