Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Little Boy Blue by MJ Arlidge, read by Elizabeth Bower.

Hiding her personal connection to the victim - and a double-life which must remain secret at all costs - Helen becomes a woman possessed, working her team around the clock to chase down every lead.

As the killer strikes again, the investigation takes its toll not only on Helen but also her senior officers. Tempers flare, friendships fray and Helen faces an impossible choice.

Confess her sins and lose control of the case? Or keep living a lie, protecting her darkest secrets, and risk getting trapped in this tangled web?

But whatever she does, this killer will not stop until the truth is revealed: there are some fates worse than death....

A totally implausible storyline.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I am amazed that anyone thought this was good. The story line is totally implausible and fatuous. It was more like a grizzly fairy tale than anything that would happen in real life. It is quite literally a 'story' and not a very good one at that. I was so pleased when it came to an end.

Would you ever listen to anything by M. J. Arlidge again?

No

Which scene did you most enjoy?

None

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Still trying to think of something...

Rubbish

It's time that Aldlidge changed the storyline. The first three books were great but now it's complete repetition. Can there not be a crime that Helen Grace investigates that isn't about her . This is the last Helen Grace book I will read .

Surprising!!

I've read all the Helen Grace books now and was just thinking that this would probably be my last - the stories are all good, but I was able to predict the endings.

However, there is a great twist to this tale, so I'll be looking out for the next episode. (No spoilers!)

Best of the bunch !

Listened to all the Helen Grace audiobooks and overall they've been 3.5-4.0 out of 5. Given this a 5 as this is the best one yet.
Kept me guessing, fast paced and a different ending...can't wait until the next one.

Disappointing!!!

I was looking forward to this next Helen Grace book, but I feel let down in some way. The story was weak it just got going at the end!! I'm assuming there is another book to Finnish this story,

Loved it

Love Love this series!

I can't recommend them enough, the stories are well thought out, there suspense, joy, shock, panic brilliant!
You really get into the story, you empathise with all the characters and just when you think 'nah don't like him or her' Arlidge changes or makes you question your first option, even the criminals!
Needless to say I will stay glued to this series of D.I Grace, next one please!!!!!

Cliffhanger

Enjoyed this latest in the series but disappointed that it's a cliffhanger with no sense of whether the story continues in s new book.

Warning! It's a cliffhanger!

I enjoyed the book, but was so disappointed in the ending. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, I did a little digging and "Hide & Seek" will be released September 8, 2016 in the UK, so hopefully it'll be available in the US shortly afterwards. You may want to wait till then and read them in quick succession.
Onto the book, I continue to enjoy Helen Grace, but am tiring of Anita G. She's become predictable and uninteresting.
I don't want to spoil the story, but found the villain to be both predictable and not believable. With that being said, I will purchase the next one.

Little Boy Blue

Enjoyed the story and the narration. The ending was a little bit disappointing, not the normal surprise ending.

Wow...what a wonderful first audio book!

Great book! Wonderful reading. Killer ending! Another great book. This one takes Aldridge onto another playing field. I didn't see any of this coming. Seriously fantastic book!

Big holes in this plot

I enjoyed the earlier Helen Grave books, This one has a huge error with the first murder,. The rest of the b ook is good enoigh, I quarrel with a couple of small holes but the mystery is good enogh to read on a rainy Saturday.
