Summary
One year after being hospitalized for a life-changing illness, Vivian is finally ready to get back into dating. Things are definitely looking up when a beautiful woman named Shari asks her out for drinks - and possibly more.
Too bad the night turns whisky-sour when Shari not only rejects Vivian, but confirms her most self-conscious fears!
Enter Kat the bartender, who has seen this train wreck of a date with her own observant eyes. It's not the first time Shari has destroyed a woman's self-confidence in one night, but it is the first time Kat has decided to personally cheer up the latest victim.
What ensues is the most fateful week to ever befall Vivian the legal secretary and Kat the bartender. Nobody's sure if a real relationship is on the docket - all they know is that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and at least one drink is always on the house.

Too short
I felt that the story was too short, so could not devlop the story, meaning the story was a bit rushed. I didn't feel like there was any love between the two characters it was more about having sex with each other, which is fine but I like to see the progrestion in the relationship, espically with the fact Vivian was body conscious. The narration was good.

very enjoyable
I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the characters. I thought the fact that the author showed that even thin feel insecure and have low self-esteem and bad body image. I did laugh at how quickly the relationship moved, but in all honesty this does happen quite a bit and lesbian relationships. Which is why they talk about the U-Haul thing. I enjoyed the flirting between the two main characters and was kind of glad that Vivian did not have sex with Kat on the first night. Even though she was tempted and it felt good. It was a very good read and I highly recommend it. The narrator was excellent. She didn't rush or drag through the story. Her voice was relaxed and easy to listen to.

Nice enough story.
I don’t generally listen to audio books, so it was a nice change to have the lovely female voice of Victoria reading to me. The story is self however was a tad uneven. The main protagonists were both women who had been out of the dating scene for a while. Each had their own inner demons to battle. Although I liked Kat for the most part, I found her inner thoughts at times confusing. No wonder Vivian found it difficult to read her. The whole explanation of the behaviour of Kat’s ex was just weird. Overall it was a pleasant way to spend a rainy winters afternoon and I managed to get a few things done because of it. Entertaining enough.

LOVED this book
My experience with dating a bartender did not go well in the least, but I still find them hot as hell. Especially in a bar with a lot of queers. It also teaches us not to believe what snotty bitches say and to believe in your own beauty, in whatever capacity that takes place. I am not usually a fan of shorter books, but I will definitely be listening to this one again! 😍😍😍

Great book... needs more Sherri.
I enjoyed this story overall. Vivian and Kat were cute and were just what one another needed but I mostly enjoyed Sherri. I wish she had a bigger role in the book. Granted, she had a big impact but it's not the same. She was funny even though she wasn't trying to be. She simply kept it real and was just being herself well, as much of herself as she could remember how to be. She put me in the mind of those old grannies who just say whatever without apology. They don't mean to be mean or offensive it just comes out that way. Anyhoo, read the book to see for yourself and enjoy.
