Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Thea Harrison comes the final story in her spellbinding Moonshadow trilogy…

King Oberon reigned over his Dark Court in Lyonesse for centuries until an assassination attempt laid him low. Now he lies unconscious in his snow-bound palace while his Power battles the enchantment that threatens to end his life.

A skilled trauma surgeon and magic user, Dr. Kathryn Shaw reigns at the top of her profession in New York. Then comes a challenge she can’t resist - she is asked to cure the incurable. Just getting close enough to try healing Oberon is a dangerous proposition. When she does reach him, he awakens too soon.

Roused from darkness by Kathryn’s presence, Oberon confronts the beautiful stranger who claims she wants to save his life. But the enchantment has frozen his emotions. How can he learn to trust her when he can’t feel anything?

Oberon’s desire is icy, devoid of all tenderness. Not only must Kathryn match wits with him, she must also fight her reaction to his touch, because there is so much more at stake than her own endangered heart.

For the Dark Court faces its most deadly peril yet. Its ancient enemy Isabeau, Queen of the Light Court, is obsessed with its annihilation, and Oberon must be brought to remember his loyalty and affection for his people.

Because if he won’t fight for them, Lyonesse itself may very well be destroyed…

A solid enjoyable listen

Out of the books I’ve listen to by Thea Harrison I’d probably put this closer to 4 stars because the action wasn’t quite as enthralling, but the overall balance of great narration, good characters and an engaging premise made me rate it a bit higher. Wish there were more full length novels by Thea Harrison available on Audible. At present it seems like loads of novellas apart from this series (..which has sadly concluded with this book).

nice book, finishes trilogy well.

Battle scenes good but quickly done. For somebody as strong as the antagonist is throughout the series was hoping for more payback. I guess I am just as bloodthirsty as Oberon.

Beautiful

Well written, wonderful story. Excellent narration. All the hilarity and difficulty you could imagine from a cat and a bird having to rely upon each other. And Robin. I think Robin stole a bit of the show. Beautiful.

Loved it! AND the narration was perfect..

It’s probably a good thing that King Oberon wasn’t an unfeeling jerk for too long or I wouldn’t have never liked him at all. But, after 15+ years in stasis Kathryn did wake him up. And it was a battle from the get-go between him and Kathryn, he as a huge white lion and her as a falcon but together they got things together.

This was my favorite of the Moonshadow series, and I knew it would be.

I liked Oberon and Kathryn a lot. I liked that she didn’t put up with his crap and gave as good as she got.

And, I love, love, loved all the magic. What Oberon could do with the weather was just incredible. The battle between Oberon and Isabeau along with the Russian Fae was awesome. The wind and rain and lightening then the hurricane Oberon caused. He was one powerful Wyr. And I adored the puck Robin. He could be a horse one minute, then a snake, then a monkey, you never knew what he was going to shift into.

And even though the time she spent operating on him might have been far fetched I didn’t have a problem with it, like others did. I mean, the entire book was about a place that doesn’t exist, creatures that don’t exist, so why do I have to question anything that has to do with a shape-shifting falcon/doctor operating ALONE on a shape-shifting King/lion?

There was explicit sex, multiple times, in this book and the F-bomb was used 35 times.

As to the narration: I always love Sophie Eastlake, both male and female voices but this time her emotions when she read were just phenomenal. Every time the book called for a whisper or an angry yell, she did it to perfection.

Worth the wait

I adore the dynamic between Katherine and Oberon. They had fierce battles to face on several fronts. When they managed to face all their mutual mistakes, the climax was so worth it. I also appreciated the points about living someone who had a chronic condition.

Then there was Puck. Thank you for bringing him some closure without making g it easy. I am anxiously awaiting your next book.

Another good story by Thea Harrison

Thea Harrison is one of a few author s that I will purchase anything they release. This is a lovely story. A good third book of the Trilogy. If has everything you need interesting charters, the right amount on romance action, adventure and just enough hot scenes.

I loved it

I am such a dummy, yes I said it, a big dummy.  The adage never judge a book by its cover is the perfect example of why I am a HUGE dummy.  I have loved the Moonshadow series, and I held off on buying Lionheart because I didn’t like the look of the male model on the cover.  (Slaps self in the head)  He reminds me of my ex-husband (shudder), and I couldn’t get past it.  When I read a book, I will picture the lead character as the cover model.  As you can imagine, I didn’t do that.  A more mature Jason Mamoa was what I went with this time around.

Once again Harrison has surpassed my expectations and created another vivid world in her universe that is brilliant, exciting and full of wonder and magic.  I loved getting lost in the story, and Sophie Eastlake’s narration made that easy.

I loved these characters.  Kathryn is a smart, strong-willed, no-nonsense woman who is King Oberon perfect match.   Oberon is everything a King should be and so incredibly sexy in his male alpha dominance.  It gave me shivers.  He is almost at a tie with Drogos for favorite character in this world.

I think Moonshadow is only going to be a trilogy and I hope I am wrong about that because I loved these characters.  I hope to see more of them especially Robin; I loved him.  He is mischievous and complicated.  I don’t necessarily want to see him find love but I would like to see more.

I am giving Lionheart: 5 Boundless Stars, I loved it, I hope it isn’t the last.

paranormal romance bliss!

I love every part of this book. You made Katherine and Oberon's struggles and relationships seem real and full of the true ups and downs of being in love. I loved the humor that never seemed to lighten my moods. Robin is a feisty little character I loved from the first. I recommend to everyone!
