About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Aged just five, Saroo Brierley was separated from his family in India when he boarded a train that took him 1500km from his hometown. After weeks surviving alone on the streets of Calcutta, he was eventually adopted by an Australian couple.

As an adult, Saroo couldn't help but think about the family he'd lost. Years later, he swapped the map of India on his wall for Google Earth, scouring it for landmarks he knew from his childhood. One day, he saw something he recognised, and he set off on a journey to find his mother...

I have probably watched the movie about 5 times and already then I fell in love with the story, but now when I've heard the book I love the story even more. I'm just getting ready to hear it for the second time 😍

Possibly my favourite Audible book yet.

A simply incredible story and a lovely expansion of the film which I suspect will be many people’s route to this audiobook.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Brilliantly narrated. This story will stay with me forever. You simply must listen to Saroo Brierley’s incredible story. I listened to this life story unable to stop; I was carried along with the detailed narrative beautifully interpreted. 10 out of 10. A movie in the making perhaps.

In my top 5 books. Unmissable!
