About this listen

Desire leaves a man destroyed – a young girl's curiosity reveals secrets better left hidden – an accidental encounter on a train ends violently – ambition leads to a curious exchange – an uncanny likeness changes two lives forever.

A novel in sixteen chilling parts, linked by a glittering charm bracelet which brings misfortune to everyone who handles it. In Like A Charm, the cream of British and American crime writers combine for a must-have collection. From nineteenth-century Georgia, where the bracelet is forged in fire, to wartime Leeds, a steam train across Europe, the violent backstreets of 1980s Scotland, present-day London, a Manhattan taxi, the Mojave desert and back to Georgia, each writer weaves a gripping story of murder, betrayal and intrigue.

struggled with these short stories, not that interesting, narrator's voice unfortunately did not add to my interest.

I loved every moment if it. The narrator made every moment believable and worth while.

This isn’t the kind of book I would normally get because I’m not into short stories but I gave it a shot… can’t say it was worth the money

Can’t get through it

Extremely disappointing and not the quality of work I would normally associate with Karin Slaughter, Mark Billingham, etc. whose books I have enjoyed in the past.

Probably my worst purchase so far

The summary sounded good, but I found the stories a bit too brutal. There was too much violence against women and the story on the train with the young man who was a bit slow was a distasteful I my opinion. I got half way through and didn't want to listen to any more. I listen to fiction to be entertained but I didn't find this book entertaining.

Not for me <br />
