About this listen

At just 18, Lucrezia Borgia, the alluring daughter of the Pope, has already had her life touched by dishonour and tragic loss. In the decadent society of 15th-century Rome, violence is commonplace, and scandal is never far from the infamous Borgia family.

In the aftermath of her brother Giovanni’s brutal murder, Lucrezia knows she must build a life for herself if she is to break away from the corrupt world her family is tied to. Before long she is torn between her deep love for her husband, Alfonso, and her devotion to her brother Cesare, a man who has proved his brutal nature once and will not hesitate to do so again.

Easy listening while baking, if you watched the bogus on TV a few years back this is a good follow on.

Easy to listen too.

I loved listening to this book, Jilly Bond is superb and I can’t wait to listen to more of her great voices

Best narrated

The story is ok but the terrible Spanish accents from the narrator really ruin it. The throaty flemmy sounds become very grating very quickly. I do not think I can finish the audiobook.

Please re-record it.

Lucrecia was an innocent little thing and had no idea what was going on around her. Listened to the first and was ambivalent, but wanted the story so got the second book. Couldn't finish. Kept trying and failing. Narrator uninspiring but the book she was working with was pointless and a complete fairytale.

Unrealistic
