About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Tess Gerritsen, a terrifying novel of deadly proportions as an ER doctor tries to determine the cause and cure of a fatal and mysterious virus before it becomes an epidemic.

The quiet overnight shift at Springer Hospital ER suits Dr. Toby Harper just fine—until she admits a man in critical condition from a possible viral infection of the brain. The delirious man barely responds to treatment—and then disappears without a trace. Before Toby can find him, a second case occurs, revealing a terrifying fact: the virus can only be spread through direct tissue exchange. Following a trail of death that winds from a pregnant sixteen-year-old prostitute to her own home, Toby discovers the unthinkable: the epidemic didn't just happen—someone let it loose....

From the start to the end, the characters and plots and sub plots had me enthralled. I really enjoyed my first excursion into Tess Gerritsen, and George Guidall’s narration was excellent. I hope there will be more from Dr Toby Harper.
If you have never tried any of her books, I would highly recommend this as a starter.

My first venture int Tess Gerritsen. Brilliant

A wonderful gripping thriller with great twists and turns throughout.

Narrator is brilliant. A clear voice and reforms with crescendo when needed.

Please excuse any typos it's 2am and I have blurry eyes. Insomnia is now a happy tome thanks to audible but it can't help blurred sleepy vision.

Really enjoy Tess Gerritsen books and this is no exception. I like these books because I feel they are always ''going'' somewhere and by that I mean I find them good fun to read - never boring.
Characters good, plot - not to my taste but cannot help but enjoy her books.
