Story
Gary Barlow is one of the most successful British musicians and songwriters of all time, but 15 years ago, as he himself admits, he hit rock bottom - he was out of shape, out of work, depressed. Food for him had become an addiction, a means not only of comfort but almost of self-medication as he grappled with the cruel twists of fate of musical stardom. In 2003, as he struggled with the disappointment of an underperforming solo career alongside the tireless media taunts; Gary turned to food.

Story
I can't rewrite history; all I can do is be honest and wear my heart on my sleeve. It's really the only way I know. I want to show people the real me. Or perhaps remind them. Because, somewhere - amongst the nightclubs, the frocks and hairdos, the big chart hits, and the glamour of being a popstar - the other Sarah Harding got utterly lost. She's the one who's been forgotten. And all I want is for you to hear her out. This is Sarah Harding, in her own words.

Story
Bryony Gordon has OCD. It's the snake in her brain that has told her ever since she was a teenager that her world is about to come crashing down: that her family might die if she doesn't repeat a phrase five times, or that she might have murdered someone and forgotten about it. It's caused alopecia, bulimia, and drug dependency. And Bryony is sick of it. Keeping silent about her illness has given it a cachet it simply does not deserve, so here she shares her story with trademark wit and dazzling honesty.

For a long time, I felt that I couldn't write this book. At first, I didn't think I'd lived enough, then life got busy and filled with distractions. In more recent years, there was always a very painful consideration - I knew where it would eventually have to go. I have recently decided that the truth is the only thing that can set me free. The truth has taken a long time to make itself clear to me, but now is the right time to share it, all of it. Television and broadcasting has been a part of my DNA for as long as I can remember.

Summary
Narrated with her trademark humour, warmth and honesty, Davina McCall shares her life experiences.
'I am a work in progress. There are times when I feel in control and like I know what I'm doing...and there are times (quite a few) (actually lots) when I've got no idea what's going on, where to turn, what to do, how to behave, and those are the times I've sought help! I have been helped by some extraordinary people. I've been supported and counselled through my recovery from drugs and alcohol. I've been hypnotised to get me through my ultimate fears. I've read a squibillion (that's a lot) of fantastic self-help books and I have shared and shared with the greatest girlfriends and family of all time. These nuggets of wisdom have, at times, literally kept me going, so I thought I'd pay it forward and share them with you....'
In this long-awaited audiobook, Davina McCall shares the tips and wisdoms learned on her 'work-in-progress' journey through life.
Warm, engaging, honest and generous, this audiobook will make you laugh and cry in equal measure. Lessons I've Learned is the closest thing to a Davina hug and we all need one of those....

I am now in love with Davina McCall
Wow well what can I say? I'm currently contemplating leaving my fiancé and stalking Davina ( in a none stalking stalky way, so more like strolling or gently meandering her) anyway she's hilarious, strong, silly, naughty and inspiring. Don't get me wrong I definitely don't agree with all of the advice or suggestions and i often blew a rasberry or two ( for someone who wrote a whole chapter on not moaning you surely do moan a lot women ha!) but I have never encountered a more honest and truthful account of hopes, dreams, sadness from someone on a never ending journey to want to be a better person, it was truely beguiling. It was made all the more special listening to Davina read out her own words and especially with such grace and humility told me about her life, just as if it was just us two sat in the kitchen having a cup of tea. Thank you sincerely for sharing your lifes ups, down and merry-go-rounds with me, it was marvelous.

Really good in parts.
I loved the beginning chapters but found some chapters quite boring. Maybe because I'm older than Davina. At 48 she still has lots to learn but comes across like she knows it all. I did finish the book and Davina read it really well.

Fantastically Brilliant and Honest
I really enjoyed listening to this! It was lovely to hear Davina herself read it, it's incredibly honest about pretty much everything!!
It's the kind of book you need a note pad beside you to take notes. Her lessons learnt are quite practical and can be transferred into ones own life. But there's ALOT! So having a pen and pad would be a handy tip.
I really enjoyed it and 100% recommend from around the age 15/16 years to read right up to around davinas age ish both male and female.
It leaves you feeling positive and as if you've had a good talk with a friend, that satisfied feeling you get.
AND shocker here.... she swears alittle. OMG lol. But as she reads you can tell she's completely lost herself and is just talking not reading. Which is lovely!
Two thumbs up and a huge thank you for the book! The honesty of it, and the kindness of taking time to pass it all on :)
