Summary

In Lessico famigliare, il riaffiorare alla memoria di parole, espressioni, frasi e modi di dire sentiti tante volte in casa da Natalia Ginzburg, scandisce, con ironia e tenerezza, la storia della sua famiglia - i Levi - ebrei e antifascisti, nell'Italia tra gli anni Venti e gli anni Cinquanta del Novecento.

beautiful story very well told

the characters, especially the mother and father, really came alive thanks to all the typical phrases that the writer recalls

Splendida Margherita Buy e bella storia

Splendido narratore, libro scorrevole che combina racconti familiari e storia, con la seconda guerra mondiale che fa da fondo a gran parte del libro.

beautiful reading of an Italian classic

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Mergherita Buy reads beautifully, her Italian is so crisp and clear (she is an actress after all) her tone shows such an understanding of the significance of what she's reading. A real treat.

What did you like best about this story?

It's a great novel

What does Margherita Buy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

An immediacy and an understanding of the sub-text.

One of the best!

This is one of the best stories I ‘ve listened! Ever....It makes me remember my childhood with all those italian expressions I’ve growned with... makes me remembered my «  nonno, nonna e mamma...anche zie » . It was our way of speaking....absolutly lovely!
