About this listen

 Die Erzählung handelt von dem Schriftsteller Jakob Lenz, der zu einem Bergdorf wandert und dort bei Pfarrer Oberlin Unterschlupf findet. Durch diese "Flucht" glaubt er seine Angstzustände überwinden zu können. Zunächst scheint dies auch möglich bis ihn sein alter Freund Kaufmann besucht. Kaufmann und Oberlin brechen zu einer Reise in die Schweiz auf. Lenz begleitet sie ein Stück. Auf dem Weg zurück trifft in einer Berghütte ein todkrankes Mädchen. Deren späterer Tod treibt ihn zum Wahnsinn, so dass er in eine Klinik nach Straßburg gebracht wird und dort nur noch "dahinlebt", da ihm sein Leben egal ist.
