Another fantastic entry in the DCI Harry Grimm series. David J. Gatward’s eloquent descriptions of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales make you feel as though you’re right there alongside Harry and his team as they investigate not just one unusual deaths. The story is gripping, atmospheric, and thoroughly engaging from start to finish. As always, Aubrey Parsons delivers an outstanding narration, bringing the characters and setting vividly to life. Highly recommended.

As always Dave’s books drag you in from the first paragraph! Love the places i know well in the Yorkshire Dales coming in each story.
We all love the characters of course and Aubrey brings them to life and if you read and listen to the books you hear the voices from Aubrey in your head lol !

Another great Grimm story. I love these books for many reasons, but mostly for the characters. Harry Grimm wears a scary mask of scars which cover a big softy at heart. He's affected by his work of course, but refreshingly doesn't constantly struggle with PTSD or push everyone away. Gatward has built a family of characters who aren't always facing terrible tragedies, betraying trust, failing families, or suffering serious injuries every chapter. Not constantly whining about facilities or being screamed at by senior officers. Gatward allows them space to be happy. It's refreshing to have old tropes broken.

Loved the story, the return of my favourite characters and a great story. All brought to life by my favourite narrator. David and Aubrey are the perfect match.
