Summary
A victim on display. A detective on the rails.
Shopping with her sister, DI Amy Winter is admiring a Valentine’s Day window display of a perfect bride encrusted in diamonds and resplendent in lace - until she notices blood oozing from the mannequin’s mouth.
This is no stunt. A post-mortem reveals the victim was left to die on her macabre throne for all to see. When a second victim is found, it emerges that both women were "Sugar Babes" arranging dates with older men online - and Amy finds herself hunting an accomplished psychopath.
As she tracks down the killer, Amy’s instincts go into overdrive when the charismatic head of the agency behind the display makes no attempt to hide his fascination with her serial-killer parents. What exactly does he want from Amy? With her own world in freefall as her biological mother, Lillian Grimes, appeals her conviction, Amy pushes the boundaries of police procedure when a third "Sugar Babe" disappears...Is she as much at risk as the killer’s victims?

I love the Amy Winters series
This is another great thriller The back story of Amy’s is brilliant and gives great scope for more great storylines. I await the next one with anticipation. I also would like to say Elizabeth Knowelden is great as the narrator.

Good
This is a good listen from start to finish, good characters and well written. This is the first Amy Winter I've listened to and although book 3 it does well as a stand alone. Highly recommended.

Good series
Goods series and I’ve enjoyed the development of the various characters - some ‘procedural’ inaccuracies but the author justifies them in a note to readers at the end of this instalment
Sgt ‘paddy’ has developed a much strengthened Irish accent which is a shame as it’s not consistent with the narration of previous books

Now because of Amy’s past she seems to be drawn to the dark side of killers and she has an instinct that no others on her team seem to possess. narration too dramatic
Liked the story but the narration was too breathily dramatic. Too much emphasis put on the reading for this type of novel. Has put me off listening to any more.

Great book - enjoying this series
Like the series and the plot development and although this was rather creepy was enticing too.
Only one niggle… surely the public would know Lillian’s culpability as she refused to give up the location of the bodies for decades despite jack being dead (book 1)….

AMAZING PLOT …
What a brilliant crime story - a true thriller from start to finish -
Even so one learns in the first chapter who the villain is- the story builds up to an amazing Crescendo!!!
Bravo 👍
