Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-sellers Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott comes the heart wrenchingly beautiful story of Nikki and Zack.

Two stories so deeply intertwined, you'll think you know how they intersect.... but you'll be wrong.....

Zack Martin

The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn't wrong... I just didn't know how twisted fate could be.

Nikki Fallon

After the death of my mother, moving from my dark and dreary trailer park to sunny California, I was focused on one thing - finding a sister I'd only just learned existed. Falling in love with him wasn't part of the plan. But he filled a void I never knew was possible to fill. He had to be my fate. My destiny. Until the day I finally found out who my sister was... and how twisted fate could be.

It put me to sleep

Bought the audible. Performer was not good at all, it was boring and put me to sleep. Sometimes an ok book can be a better book with a good narrator.

Good storyline. Poor narration.

I have listened to dozens of audiobooks but cannot remember one that was so poorly narrated. It is interesting to me that there was no correction or editing of mispronounced words. Those mistakes certainly interfered with the telling of the story.

Performance was annoying

The story itself was ok. The performance had so many issues. Misread sentences, that were fixed mid recording. Mispronounced words. Awkward silences in the middle of readings. Not happy at all.

Innocent

This is the first review I've written. This book takes you on a very emotional journey. It's not as hard to figure out as you may think in the beginning but it does not distract from the story. The male perspective in this story is what kept me coming back. Stop reading reviews and get this book!

It's ok

I've listened to several of Vi Keeland's works, which is why I chose this one, and it was ok. It just felt very immature, and not only because the subject matter is teenagers, but the writing felt immature as well.

I loved this book. It was so pure and sweet and seriously kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story.

Great story

As I noticed most of the reviews state, the story is really well written and worth a read. However, the narrating is not good at all. The female who does the reading has a great voice, but this doesn’t make up for the long silences between some sentences and chapter breaks. There are also a few points where the audio repeats the same portion of a sentence. Also, I prefer when there are more than one character speaking or thinking, to have to separate narrators to help bring the characters alive and distinguish between who is speaking. I had a hard time keeping up with who was speaking at some points because a female was voicing the part of a male and not making the difference in her tone pronounced enough to know the difference in who was speaking. Overall, the writing is impeccable and I would definitely recommend the book and intend on listening to more of the authors books.
