Amazing!

What a great resource to learn a language on the go. I love having this on in the car or at home when doing chores, and just keep repeating the newly learnt words. My kids absolutely enjoy it too, it’s a great addition to their audible collection.

Short and effective, I hope more books will be available soon. I really appreciate the authentic voice of the narrator, it does help the learning massively.

Keep them coming, can’t wait for the next parts.

Just what I needed!

Well this is a great idea! It's not a good read but if what you're after is perfecting your mandarin pronunciation then this is perfect. Especially in this format. Mandarin has what are for me some very strange sounds that when spoken at native level are very hard to emulate. With this list of really useful vocab being in this audible format you can drop the speed to 0.5 and hey presto! You get every nuance of the pronunciation and also a bit extra time to try and get your tongue around it and try and say it after she does. Great practice and a good tool for perfecting your mandarin pronunciation!

A great help!

This book has really helped me to practice my Mandarin. One of my best friends speaks Mandarin and I made her a promise that I would learn too. I'm looking forward to sharing this book with some friends, so we can all enjoy this wonderful language together.

Great fun

I’m studying a masters degree in finance and my course has alot of chinese students. I used some of the words from this book and tried speaking to them. They found it very interesting that a guy from a south asian background is speaking in Mandarin to them!

Great selection of words

I thought the narrator was clear and concise and there was a really good selection of words for a beginner such as myself.

I wished there had been repetition, so giving me the opportunity to practise before moving on to the next word but having said that in audible it makes it easy to pause and go back.

I was surprised how many words had a meaning that we use in english for similar words. e.g Pants the word sounded like Cords,

A great beginners guide

This is a good beginners guide to learning mandarin phrases and words. And it's nice that the narrator obviously speaks the language fluently, you can hear proper intonation and pronunciation of each word.

Pronouncing Mandarin is Hard!

Have no fear as this is a great guide and perfect pronunciation example. I'm a little bummed that it's so short - but it has you covered with all the basic vocabulary you need. From family and friends animals, everyday things to directions the weather and more! All in all an excellent learning resource for the beginning Mandarin learner like me! Leah Nelson and Yu Chi Su have created the perfect "pocket guide" to pronunciation. Fantastic addendum learning resource.
