I was amazed to learn that the Japanese language has only 46 sounds, and uses the same vowels as English! There are, of course, some difference, such as they're "R" sounds like a "D." The accompanying PDF file is immensely helpful. This educational audiobook is very engaging and enjoyable; it does a good job making what intially seems overwhelming and complicated easily understood.

A difficult language for an English-speaking adult to learn is made easier to comprehend, understand, and put into practice with this 3-in-1 guide. Using the PDF along with the audio is the most comprehensive method for learning basic Japanese. I appreciated the way the chapters were organized as well as the many tips and suggestions (do this - don't do that) for visitors to Japan. There is more to communicating in another language than speaking words, and this guide covers both very well.

This book helps you get started in your journey to learning to speak Japanese. It breaks down words and common phrases to help you get started. It also comes with a pdf of the book so you can follow along as you are learning while listening to the pronunciations. While learning Japanese won't be fast or easy this is a great place to get started. I would recommend for anyone interested in getting started.
