    Multiple serious mistakes in translation

The Italian doesn’t match the English. Very easy to mislead unless you already know in advance

    Don't buy this

What would have made Learn Italian - Word Power 101 better?

This cheapskate rubbish has been hastily cobbled together by an incompetent and careless team who can't even have been bothered to have listened to their work before putting it on sale.

What could Innovative Language Learning have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The particular method they use of picking a word then gradually introducing it into a phrase and a sentence produces some very off putting results and rally doesn't work for anyone with an understanding of language and grammar.

Would you be willing to try another one of uncredited’s performances?

    Under no circumstances.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Anger.

It's just telling you about their lessons

It's just telling you about their lessons , it doesn't even give you a sample of a lesson. wouldn't encourage me to choose their programme.

Excellent for learners with experience of language

Better than a phrasebook, less complex than a grammar course. If you know the basics of Italian or language structure, this is great for a flying start. Words build into phrases and then sentences. If you don't know about conjugating and gender difference, you could trip on some of the phrases that, for example, use a feminine adjective because the sentence will feature a woman (there may be a masculine equivalent). But it's an excellent audible, which I'll continue to return to.

    Poor translations and no context

The pace of the reading isn't helpful, but worse still, the translational are inaccurate (as verified by my Tuscan partner, for whom I am trying to learn Italian), and there is no grammatical context given to explain why words like "suo" can mean his or her.

    Great if already learning italian

If you have already started to learn Italian this is a great resource. Use it to expand the expressions you know and can use. I have taken an into Italian class and found this book very helpful.

The other reviewers comments shocked me becuase it is clear that they fail to understand learning a second language is about immersing in that language. So if you want to learn a language other than English, you don't want a resource the involves a lot of English!!

Excellent if you know the very basics

If you know any italian (or spanish), this is a very efficient course to expand your vocabulary and enhance your pronunciation. But completely without any pre-knowledge, it may be a bit too fast start.

    Useless without acompaning book

After ten minutes of relaxing instructions they just started speaking in Italian. Pretty much useless for someone who can't speak the language. Quit after 30 minutes.

    Not good for beginners

I am learning Italian through classes and downloaded this for review and extra practice but if I didn't already know some of what was being said this recording would not be very beneficial. They move rather quickly and I don't think you have time to absorb anything.

it is too fast past for me to feel engaged. for absolute beginners no time to learn how to pronounce the words and repeat in time.

    Learn Italian

This was good for hearing the words spoken in Italian properly. But not so much in teaching the words as just listening to the spoken sentences.

    THE EASY WAY

Both the English and Italian are spoken clearly, slowly and repeated, making it easier to learn. I am really glad I bought this audiobook and recommend it to anyone who likes to learn by repetition.
