About this listen

Brand new to Czech?

If you're looking for the easiest way to start learning and speaking Czech!

You've made a smart choice. Why?

Because Czech can be EASY or HARD, depending on HOW you start.

- Start the hard way (reading grammar and memorizing words), and you'll quickly think, Languages are just not my thing.

- Start easy, and you'll be shocked by how much Czech you'll learn.

Yes, just like in life, introductions and first impressions matter.

And that's exactly why we've created Learn Czech Bundle - Easy Introduction for Beginners

This 3-in-1 Audiobook bundle is a fast and easy introduction to Czech for Absolute Beginners.

And there are 3 reasons why you will learn Czech easily with Learn Czech Bundle - Easy Introduction for Beginners...

1. The easiest way to pick up Czech is to listen to Czech! You get to hear real native speakers and get accustomed to the flow of Czech, which you won't get from Apps and textbooks. Just press play and listen. Lessons are just 5 minutes long and can be done anywhere, anytime at home or on the go.

2. You learn Czech in a natural way.

Instead of just reading about Czech, you learn through everyday conversations between native speakers. In each lesson, you hear a practical dialogue. Then, our teachers translate and explain every word and you understand it all within minutes.

3. You start speaking from your first lesson.

Not only will you understand practical conversations, but you'll also be able to use the same phrases. Learn Czech Bundle - Easy Introduction for Beginners focuses on everyday Czech the kind that you yourself will use in Czechia.

I am a reasonably good linguist but struggling with Czech late in life. I was looking for audio materials to support my efforts to get to A1 level. But this audiobook and the associated PDF - seem to have been put together by someone who knows nothing about language learning. It's not only mind-blowingly dull but confusing and, for me, completely ineffective. It claims to be easy and aimed at a beginner - so why introduce lots of complex 'example sentences' with vocabulary way beyond a beginner? Why introduce complex grammatical constructions like the conditional in one of the first lessons, and then fail to explain it properly? It would be so easy to stick to simple useful sentences like 'Where is… ' or 'Do you have…" but whoever wrote this has no idea what a beginner needs. Who needs to say 'Long time, no see' to a Czech friend? Beginners don't generally meet old Czech friends at the airport! They need to get off at the right bus stop or order a coffee. The most awful thing about this is the vocabulary 'review' where a droning American repeats 'Next we have.. Next we have… Next we have..' for ages, while repeating single words, out of context. Instead of teaching you the form of the verb you've just heard e.g. 'I am - this daft book gives you the infinitive, 'to be' which you haven't heard in context and don't need to know. Grammar in a background PDF is fine, if presented well (which this is not) but why put unnecessary and complex grammar into the audio? Otherwise, the audio is deadly (Tom treads on Mary's foot and Mary says 'Ow!') And there aren't enough useful repeated phrases to make it helpful - only single words, most of which you don't need to know. I got so depressed listening to this that I felt I knew less after half a dozen lessons than I did when I began. I have used Pimsleur, a proper audio learning method which works really well - but unfortunately the content is so dated that it's not much use either. It is a shame whoever put together Czech101 couldn't have used the Pimsleur approach with new material. So I am sticking to Krok Za Krokem, a good Czech book, which unfortunately doesn't have enough associated audio content. But at least it is structured properly and written by a professional language teacher.

Deadly dull and ineffective
