Summary

""Alex King is unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with..." (Stephen Leather, Sunday Times best-selling author)

When the past finally catches up with intelligence agent Alex King, it shatters his world. His enemy has struck at the life he was building, the world he was preparing for when a mission would one day become his last. In doing so, they have not only exploited the man’s one weakness, but have unwittingly released a wrath that will not be satisfied until one of them is the last man standing.

Why change the Narrator

Why change the narrator ?
Very nearly stopped listening but thanks to a very good writer I became more interested in the the story but narrator was so far from the norm very off putting

spoilt an excellent story by a new narrator.

enjoyed yet another in the Alex King series, have listened to them all and been hooked on every story, well written.

Struggled with this one, (not by the writing or story) but by the narrator, hard to tell the difference between some of the characters as they sounded the same, made King sound like an out of date robot with rubbish and slow speech processor. Please go back to the narrator who has done almost all of you books Mr Bateman.

The books in this series are very good .

I have enjoyed the series so listening via the narration in the truck .
The way your imagination can set the scene is great and everyone who listens will do it slightly differently.

Appalling

I love this series of books, but really can't finish this one, the most ridiculous narration ever, characters sound very similar I couldn't follow a conversation, Scottish accent sounds like corner shop owner Mr Singh from Aberystwyth.
Very disappointed, unfortunately I'll have to wait a few weeks before buying the next in the series, depending on the narrator.

Shocking narration, ridiculous ending.

I like these books. Joe Mills started them off well. We then got two poor narrators, one who played the character as a camp northerner, the other a monotone American. Clearly neither had read the previous books. Back to Joe Mills and normality resumed. Then we get De Deney who plays a Londoner much as Giles Brandreth would play batman. Bizarre. The comedy Scottish accent at the start was a taste of things to come. An attempt at a Brummy accent was made which was a mix of Scouse and Welsh. Then he seemed to abandon any attempt at accents altogether so you had no idea who was saying what. I hope DeDeney was cheap because he is truly awful. Why do Audible not audition their narrators? The story was standard AP Bateman fare which I have enjoyed but the repetition is now getting over the top (I know a silencer should really be called a suppressor, honest!) and I really don’t care what size bullet every gun mentioned takes. Then we come to the climax. Bond would be embarrassed by the sheer ridiculousness of it. I might put this series to bed now.

Narration not as good,

No where as good as last two, reader no where as good I’m afraid. Ruined a good story.

Great story, woeful voice over ruins it.

not sure why a change in the voice over but its pretty darn important and I've returned a few due to a very poor choice on voice over and pronunciation.

I only kept this due to to being part of the series and a great story otherwise it would be binned. if that's a Scots accent I'm a monkeys uncle's brother, it hurts!

Please re-record this and do it justice. Alex King would not have put up with it for sure!

PH.
