Story
When Victoria fell in love with the Earl of Pembroke, she never imagined he'd heartlessly wed, bed, and abandon her in the countryside. After he suddenly returns, determined to prove to her he's a changed man, she's not about to forgive him, trust him, or succumb to his scorching kisses. Will has devoted his life to enraging his loathsome father by creating one scandal after the next. Duty forces him back to the wife he resents, but he isn't prepared for the raw desire she makes him feel. Seducing her will hardly be a tedious task. Guarding his heart, however, is another matter.

A Thought Provoking Story
- By L Hayes on 18-10-18
Summary
Lady Jo Danvers has declared war on her humdrum life.
Armed with a list of ways to be wicked, she will step out of her role as never-been-kissed wallflower and experience passion. With the right gentleman, of course. She just has to find him.
Mr. Elijah Decker, the handsome businessman she cannot stop thinking about, is definitely no gentleman. And he is decidedly all wrong. Unfortunately for Jo, she has unwittingly given him her list. When Decker discovers Jo’s list mistakenly tucked between the pages of a pamphlet for the Lady’s Suffrage Society, he is intrigued. And after she realizes her error and storms his office demanding he return it, Decker agrees on one condition: that she accept his aid in crossing off each scandalous act.
What begins as a lark quickly sizzles into something deeper and unexpected. But Decker’s dark side may tear them apart before Jo’s sinful quest is complete....

Steamy love story

Brilliantly Naughty
This is my new favorite book and author but I like steamy romances. There were witty moments where I laughed out loud but it does have a lot of sexy scenes and desires. The lady makes a list of ways to be wicked and accidentally leaves it for a gentleman to find and he wants to be the one to help complete it. I thought it was a perfectly well written romance.

soft Porn
The first few books I read from Scarlet S were okay and because the narrator was R lander I kept going, but enough is enough. This author uses sex as a substitute for a relationship ( like some real life people). There is no way to explain this book outside of soft porn. I am really no prude, but wow is this awful!
The h/h are attracted to each other for no reason I can figure out. Even the hero says this...and if he can't figure it out, then how can a reader? Is it just because the heroine is beautiful ( and yes, I am growing to hate the beautiful wallflower that doesn't know she's so wonderful). The idea that he has found a private list and that's how they meet is cute and was done in "9 rules to break when romancing a rake". I liked it there because the relationship developed and was believable. Not here.
Not only is there a lot of sex acts, but the hero is constantly letting the reader know the status of his "prick". It's not the weather, so I don't need so many updates! I would rather there be more conversations between the h/h, than the hero and his anatomy. I will warn anyone brave enough to try this book, the reference to "cream" is not about adding something to coffee...so beware.
The prior book "lady ruthless" is the same and I hoped that it was just to catch the reader and then the books would get better, but no, just more of the same. I am so thankful these were free downloads and I did not lose a credit/money. Even free it is a waste, as time is precious . I am giving up on scarlet scot and I see that R lander is no longer the narrator for her book series, so I am not the only one giving up.
The narration is not good either, but I think it took 2 people to get through all the sex scenes as I am sure one person could not take it. It does not help to have two different narrators for this kind of a book, as nothing would help and to use 2 talents is a waste . These 2 narrators have such different styles of reading and voices that it is confusing and disorients the reader.
instead of enhancing the book.
Overall it is not worth a credit and I would not recommend the first 2 books, therefore the entire series falls short if 1/3 is awful. If I wanted to even try I don't think paying for a third book would be a good idea.

a little cruder than the usual steamy romance
this story doesn't have the same type of disturbing interactions of the first book, although the guy is bit a jerk at times, their interactions are at least consenting. this book also has the dual perspective story telling, so with the dual narration you have 4 voices for the 2 main characters, which gets annoying, especially as the male narrator cannot do female voices well. he also cannot pronounce bollocks. contains explicit sexual language, more the usual steamy romance.

Amazing verbal acting
This story was so funny, heart wrenching, and adorable. Decker was an amazing hero, funny, arrogant, sometimes self aware sometimes not. Josie was a shy girl embracing her inner strength, but all heart and goodness. Decker hide behind his Roguish businessman facade, hiding a kind and loving heart. The narrators brought the story to life and made you laugh, clench with anxiety, feel.
