I was feeling in the mood for a new sci-fi Jay Kristoff and here I am, very happy about my decision!
Someone on here complained that the characters can't have one conversation without getting into a physical fight.
That's not untrue.
But I also have to say: I'm not hating it!

you read/saw Alita and thought it seemed too simple..too short, too thin...nearly 2 dimensional.

rejoice puny human this is for you.

I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did. (I seem to hate hyped books almost on principle) But I actually really enjoyed it. It's different from the other of this authors books I've read but not so much that I don't know for a true cert that it's a Jay work, y'know?

The made up slang and stuff was a bit cringy in places, but other than that, I actually can't wait for the next one.

Surprisingly good

Don’t have much expectation coming into this book but liked the premise and it lived up to that. The performance was great, bringing character to each of the protagonists and the story hummed along with action and intrigue. I did guess the twists but then I’ve read too many books at this point not to but they were still well actioned. Didn’t realise it was part of a trilogy and I’ll probably get the next one now.

Good, twisty, SciFi tale
