Summary

The instant Sunday Times best seller

Your worth never changed. Your awareness of it did.

A strong understanding of self-worth is crucial to living an authentic and fulfilling life, yet so many of us have lost that sense of who we truly are and what we are worthy of. On the surface, this may look like low confidence, imposter syndrome, chronic busy-ness, exhaustion, overwhelming emotions, fear or anxiety, but at the core, it's low self-worth.

In her second book, Sunday Times best-selling author and psychotherapist Anna Mathur will set you on a journey towards greater self-worth. Anna uses her personal and professional insight to guide you to a place of balance that will allow you to recognise and appreciate your self-worth, build your self-esteem, grow in confidence and worry less about what other people think.

Using Anna's own experience of embarking on this journey herself, and spending 10 years facilitating her therapy clients to do the same, Know Your Worth will help you to understand why you feel the way you do, what perpetuates it and what the cost of low self-esteem has been for you. It provides the coping mechanisms, habits and tips that will redirect your self-esteem on a healthy and fulfilling upward spiral and help you to escape the relentless desire to 'be better' and 'do more' with the realisation that perhaps you were actually far more acceptable than you first thought.

I, I, I,

Great title. Voice of author clear but unpleasant to listen to. Natural rhythm of language spoilt by forceful emphasizing of words. A professional actors voice might give this a better chance.

After so many sentences starting with “I”.....this I , the listener, quit.

I thought the authors narration of this book wonderful and it keeps it real

Obviously everyone has their own opinions and personal choices after reading the reviews about great book shame the author narrates herself and we don’t like it, I thought I’d leave my review to say I thought she read it wonderfully. I think it keeps it real and she knows how the book should be read as she wrote it! Her pace is just right and her passion to reach out to her readers comes across as very genuine.
Thank you Anna for a great listen.

A very worthwhile listen

There are some real thought provoking insights in this book and quite a few moments that stopped me in my tracks. This is a gentle but thorough listen and is cleverly written to gently but assuredly lead the listener to a healthier way of thinking.

The author is very gifted at helping the listener to challenge beliefs and old ‘truths’ and be open to viewing ourselves differently- most especially on our own terms and not be dependent on the views that others have of us. Even worse, the view that we imagine that others might have of us.

This is most certainly a journey to a better place. Beautifully narrated as well. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed

This book was like an insight inside my own brain and it came at just the right time when I'm on a journey to change my mindset. I will be listening again to the chapters that I want to work on first. I will be recommending to others.

Rose tinted glasses

I found this book to come from a somewhat privileged standpoint. The examples given were though what I felt very rose-tinted lenses and a more privileged way of life. There was no grit to this, no real-life experiences that many people experienced and suffer from. Even examples of issues faced during childhood were so fluffy and rosey I just couldn't relate. Has a very 'mummy' feel to this book too, so if you're not a mother or could be a trigger for you I do not suggest this title. I do not recommend this book if you also suffered from more than minor parental issues as a child. I found it very frustrating.

The author's voice was nice and easy to listen to as a positive.

A worthy listen

I have followed Anna on Instagram for a while & bought her previous book about anxiety in motherhood (which was great). This book is a revelation. I felt like I was nodding along throughout, it made me quite tearful at times as I heard her describing my experiences. Am glad I purchased on audible because I think I would like to listen a good few times and get the concepts to really sink in. (I have taken on board the comments that real change takes time!!) Thankyou Anna.
