About this listen

Born a crown princess, I'm now a cursed fugitive.

Four years ago, I fled from my wedding to four fiancés.

Ryan: a part giant with an anger problem.

Quinn: a silent part elf assassin.

Declan: the bastard prince from across the sea.

Connor: my childhood best friend.

These men hate me and magically hunt me through the realm as they rule without me.

But after overhearing a plot to destroy my little sister, I have no choice. I have to convince them to trust me. Her life and the life of the kingdom depend on it.

If you like romance, mystery, and laughter, this book will keep you up all night. Medium burn. Intended for mature listeners.

Book 1 in a fantasy series with fae, giants, Djinn, dragons, humans with magic and more magic. It's a RH, with i guess bully romance, and there is good banter. I say I guess bully romance because it was more the guys were hurt, and she'd left for 4 years no word why, good reason why though, so I would have wanted some grovelling from the guys, but it was kind of skipped over and done with, mainly because I feel this group don't have that dynamic, the FMC seems to understand and they understand and if i look at it, not really a place for being angry once the reason is revealed. Yet they do ask some impossible things, like don't use your magic again, why, if you read the book you'll get it.

I listened to this as an audiobook and the actors were not bad. I enjoyed the overall book, found it light the FMC a bit funny. I didn't really connect to all the characters, so the ending didn't hit me as hard as it should have. The spicy bits were well written, but it fell flat for me, mainly for the didn't connect reason. There's a few open door and explicit scenes, one full on groups scene with minimal adventure.

Maybe it's because I just read a really dark and funny, and engaging RH at the same time and because I didn't feel the same engagement it was a okay book but not great.

The world building was fast and I'm still unsure of the realm and what and who rules what. But it is book 1. My mood tells me I should come back to this series another time, maybe I will love it if it's the only series I'm reading, so don't take this as a bad review, I think it was enjoyable enough to give it a read.
