About this listen

More than 1,500 years after his disappearance into the mists of Avalon, King Arthur has returned. This time, he's prepared to rule the Camelot of a new millennium: New York City. Handsome, charismatic Arthur Penn is running for mayor on a platform of common sense, humor, and knightly virtues. His advisors include a gifted 10-year-old named Merlin; Percival, an immortal accountant; and Gwen, a lovely young woman with no end of problems. Their grassroots campaign steadily gains strength until scandal looms with the sudden emergence of Morgan Le Fay, Arthur's sorceress half-sister, and her son, Mordred, the aspiring mayor's ambitious heir.

Performed by Terence Aselford, Matthew Keenan, Amanda Forstrom, Nanna Ingvarrson, Kimberly Gilbert, Ken Jackson, Chris Genebach, Scott McCormick, David Jourdan, Eva Wilhelm, Nick DePinto, Eric Messner, Bradley Smith, Christopher Walker, Lincoln Zada, Laura C Harris, Bill Gillett, Michael Glenn, Yasmin Tuazon, Jeff Allin, Bob Payne, Michael John Casey, Nanette Savard, Bruce Alan Rauscher, Todd Scofield, Evan Casey, Danny Gavigan, James Lewis, Chris Davenport, Tim Getman, Dani Stoller, Thomas Keegan, Patrick Bussink, Chris Scheeren, Nora Achrati, Jonathan Feuer, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Mort Shelby, Karen Novack, Steve Wannall, Jonathon Church.

This was an entertaining listen. I'm not sure what accents some of the characters were meant to have but overall it was amusing to have Arthur bumbling his way into New York politics.

A daft but fun listen

I checked this audio play out as the book has been on my to check out list for a while as I’m fan of the writer Peter David from his various superhero works, mostly his three runs on Marvel’s X-Factor, and was interested in his take on the King Arthur in the modern times story and with his passing recently at this time I decided to dive in

As expected of David there’s no shortage of humour having me laughing too many times to list and i greatly enjoyed his references and spins on various characters, tropes and elements of Arthurian lore

I’ve checked out a few of Graphic Audio’s productions before but this may be my favourite yet all actors do their parts brilliantly

Brilliant
