Summary

You never know where danger may come from....

6.45 a.m. A sweltering London rush hour. And in the last 27 minutes, seven people have been murdered.

In a series of coordinated attacks, seven men and women across London have been targeted. For journalist Famie Madden, the horror unfolds as she arrives for the morning shift.

The victims have one thing in common: they make up the investigations team at the news agency where Famie works. The question everyone’s asking: what were they working on that could prompt such brutal devastation?

As Famie starts to receive mysterious messages, she must find out whether she is being warned of the next attack or being told that she will be the next victim....

Exceptional Storytelling - Unrelenting Pace

Zoe Telford wonderful choice for narrator. Note perfect. Suspenseful, shocking, well-researched cracking plot. Highly recommended.

Lost my way after 3 hours

Narrator was really giving me a hard time to continue with this book and she didn’t give me anything to keep me going. Story was good at start but stopped by chapter 34

good book, dull narration

entertaining book ruined by a terrible monotone narration that made it very difficult for the mind not to wander.

Gripping

The book is gripping but a little over long, so 4 stars. The narrator’s soft, rather flat delivery was irritating at times but the story was good enough to keep me listening.

A great read!

Started off well and kept my interest all the way through. I got a little bit lost in the middle but managed to get to grips with it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the characters involved.

Struggled to hear it

The constant change in volume and insistance on whispering really quickly by the narrator totally distracts as you struggle to listen and hear what’s being said. I missed so much of the story. Complete waste of time and money

Gripping and thoroughly enjoyable

Brilliant story - I found it so hard not to listen to the whole thing in one sitting! There was even a little Wittertainment Easter egg. The characters were interesting - I really hope there's a follow up so we can spend more time with them. Just when I thought I couldn't love Simon Mayo more, he writes a great book with a fantastic woman in the lead role. I've never listened to an audio book before and was unsure how I'd feel about it, but I thought Zoe Telford's narration was wonderful. It was quiet and subtle, so it didn't distract from the story. Overall, I can't recommend this book enough.

Exceptionally good thriller performed perfectly

This book bursts with tension and the writing is gripping and concise. The characters are 100% convincing and the level of research makes it compelling. Genuinely brilliant book. Zoe Telford's audio drawing of the characters is perfect and she really elevates the experience of listening to another level.
