as great as the ebooks

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Randi Johnson is one of the top 3 narrators (so far) for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. And really, his SEXY VOICE is something you DON'T want to miss!!
I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Short stories of first times. First kisses, first loves and even some mpreg. Enjoyable and rather sweet. The narration by Randi Johnson made them that much better.

Spontaneous attraction

Randi Wilson brought this collection of sweet romantic short stories to life.
Book 1 - is what I thought was just the beginning with tons of potential way to short insta love story.
Book 2 - shows how attraction can be found by two totally unsuspecting people on a movie set.
Book 3 - This story has much more, it deals with discrimination at the work place and a small minded family.
Book 4 - This one again was to short, but sweet, kind of an instant attraction leaving you wishing for more.

Fantastic value

Book 1
This is a short sweet book. Good characters, but I want more! Randi does a great job.
Book 2
Really enjoyable storyline, a lovely partnership and a sweet ending.
Book 3
This is a graphic storyline that really shows how small minded people can be. But it’s a great book, with characters that I like. Randi brings these characters alive so very well.
Book 4
Randi is such a diverse narrator. He sounds so passionate with these characters. The story is written very well, it’s a short quick read/listen. Lots of insta-love.

Hits and Misses

I received this audiobook from the narrator in exchange for my honest unbiased review.

SNACK BAR

This is a quick story about Ethan who is starting to understand who he really is. He meets Adrian who is working at a snack bar. They are both instantly attracted to one another and exchange numbers. Like I stated before this is super short. Just when things were starting to become interesting the story ended. I was definitely not okay with that.

METHOD ACTORS

Damon is a famous actor who has had the worst luck with his personal life. On his current movie, which is a gay romance, he ends up in bed with his co-star, Gabe, and in love. The way this entire story read was just incoherent. There are so many questions that need to be answered that never got answered within this micro story. First, how in the world did Gabe get pregnant? That was never answered. I thought this book was going to be a mpreg book because that would make sense of a guy getting pregnant but it isn't.

Also it seems as though Damon and Gabe got back together but how did that happen? Did Damon get on his knees and apologize to Gabe or did Damon just show up and Gabe was like I love you too? This entire plot was rough and more thought could have been put within the story especially since this seems to be the longer of the stories within this collection.

BUILDING HEARTS

Killian is running away from his family because he has come out as gay and his parents are not about that. His parents are ultra-conservative so they think that he needs to be saved or converted and that he needs to come home for those actions to take place. Killian finds a safe place with his roommate and his family. He ends of falling in love with Sterling, who he is building a house for, and the story fast tracks from there.

Killian is beat up because of the fact that he is gay. This story gives a glimpse into the prejudice that people of the lgbtqia community goes through on a daily basis. Even though this was short as all the other stories are I feel as though this story was complete.

TERRIBLE GAMBLER

Drake and Adrien are coworkers. For most of the story they have this love-hate relationship. They kiss they fight they kiss one runs away they kiss it's awkward. That was the whole premises of this story. There is no real plot to the story there was no rhyme or reason Why the story was even written and included in this collection and I am glad that it was not long.

I do enjoy Randi Johnson's narrating in the stories. The first time that I listened to him narrate it was a bit choppy but as I listen to more and more stories that he narrates the more I am getting accustomed to his pacing. He still reads a bit fast for me. Like he is trying to get certain lines done and over with however you can slow down the speed so it's at a normal rate. I will continue listening to him narrating because he does do a very good job and he does sound committed to each character in each story that he voices. I do feel as though he does bring life to the story's even when the story is not the bestest.

Cute Compilation

This is a quick listen that is a cute and sweet compilation of four short stories. Each one is a quick tale of a different couple as they begin falling in love. The narrator was great with each story and with all of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Four good short stories.

Kiss Me Slowly is made up of four short stories, and it's the first I've read by Romeo Alexander. It's also the first audiobook I've listened to by Randi Johnson. I actually think it might be the first book that Randi has narrated.

Randi Johnson has a very nice voice to listen to. In this compilation of stories, though, I felt like his voice was a bit too emphatic for most of the stories. I really enjoyed the various voices he did and as the book progressed his narration improved and his voice seemed a bit less emphatic.

I listened to this audio in one sitting. I found it a bit difficult to shift POVs from story to story. Snack Bar is third person, Method Actors is first person alternating between the two main characters, Building Hearts is first person present by just one character and then Terrible Gambler was back to third person. There is nothing wrong with any of these POVs, it was just a bit disconcerting to right from one POV to the other. It would have been fine if I had paused my listening for a bit between books.

Romeo Alexander's writing wasn't bad at all but I was a bit amused by the way he worded the sexy time in Building Hearts so that no explicit words were used. I found this a bit unusual because the previous story, Method Actors, had a fair amount of explicit sex. If I had paused between stories, I probably wouldn't have noticed it but at the time I listened the differences really caught my attention.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Easy listen

Overall a delightful collection of short, easy-to-listen-to stories that I'd be happy to listen to again.

1) Snack Bar (approx 23 minutes) - this was fun and light-hearted and my favorite of the 4. I would have liked it to be longer.
2) Method Actors (approx 75 minutes) - there is a plot twist in the middle of this one that was a bit weird for me, but overall I still enjoyed it.
3) Building Hearts (approx 65 minutes) - this one has a violence trigger warning. It was a great story that is really heart-warming.
4) Terrible Gambler (approx 25 minutes) - was light-hearted but gain felt really short.

Excellent performance by Randi Johnson on this collection, his very expressive narration suited each story, I had no problem differentiating each of the characters and found myself easily connecting with them.

4 Quick Listens

Four cute stories about finding love for the first time. Whether it was a first crush, first love, or first time each story is unique. Great to listen to while out running errands. I loved the animation and emotion the narrator brought to the stories.
