This book - and its amazing narration!! - had me from the first minute. The characters, the storytelling structure, the sentences situate the reader in multiple interconnected spaces and times of a family’s complex histories. The narration was so powerful: the depth of emotion, embodiment and registers of each character were so unique. I highly recommend this book, both author and narrator. As a lover of history and African storytelling, I was hooked. The story brings to life the human and spiritual/ancestral worlds. Thank you for this beautiful storytelling.
