Critic reviews

"Filmed seventy years ago in stark black and white, King Kong still holds the force of its raw simplicity. More myth than monster, Kong suffers the fate of the classic tragic hero, destroyed by his own nobility. High-tech civilization overwhelms his primitive power. Beauty kills the beast." (Jack Williamson)

Found the story timeless, a real classic. Great interviews at the end. Would recommend to any film nut.

I enjoyed listening to this story and the interviews afterwards. It’s made me want to watch the original film again.

Great book. I really didn’t need the interviews at the end. If I needed to know about the making of the movie I’d watch ‘the making of…’.

what can you say it's still as good as when I first saw it, my Grandad put it on TV for me when I was maybe 7-8 and I loved it better that any of the remakes.
