Was good as far as it went but too short. James Macpherson’s narration is brilliant

The story is interesting and also anti climatic. It gives the sense of chatting to your uncle in a bar, or a man about to retire. One of those stories told by someone distant, yet not so far from yourself you cant connect to them and their emotions. A good hours fun, not overwhelming, not boring.

RLS is a fantastic writer and this short book is beautifully written. Unfortunately, whomever undertook to edit the story to this husk has taken out much of the charm, wit and detail. It is well performed and relatively enjoyable for all that
