Summary

When Murph Cooper rocks up to his new school, he can't help but feel a bit out of his depth. And it's not because he's worried about where to sit, and making friends, and fitting in, or not knowing where the loos are.

It's because his mum has enrolled him at a school for superheroes by mistake. And unlike his fellow students Murph has no special abilities whatsoever. But just because you don't have superpowers, it doesn't mean you can't save the day....

Super

My six year old son, ten year old daughter and I have been listening avidly and literally laughing aloud on the school run at this fabulous story. It’s so amusing, well written and well performed. There are quite a few references the grown ups will enjoy, a lot of observational humour and many witty asides. All this is wrapped a in a decent story line. Supersedes D. Walliams by miles. Highly recommended.

I loved Nectar. He was a brilliant character! I also liked when the school children chose their superhero names. Seth Wrafter aged 6

Fantastic story, entertainingly narrated

I think I enjoyed this book almost as much as my kids did! This was our entertainment for the 30 minute school run each morning and it kept us well entertained. Great storyline, kept the kids engaged throughout. Looking forward to listening to more from these authors.

Easy listen, mostly

Loved this, especially for the “sound effects”! Those cracked me up!!! The only part I didn’t care for was the screechy voice of the wasp, it killed my ears!! I was VERY tempted to skip several of those parts, but they were too important to the story line. :/ Overall still a great story!!! :D

Kids couldn't get enough

I listened to this with my 6, 8, and 9 year olds. The narration is excellent and the storyline was great. But I was taken aback when guns came out in the second half of the book. I think the book would be better without machine guns. Still deciding if I want to read the next book with them.

Sparkling performance and story

Is it wrong to like an audiobook more than reading it oneself? Lazy, perhaps? When our favorite authors and radio presenters Greg James and Chris Smith read their books to us, we can’t help but be charmed all over again. Greg’s voicing of the characters, especially the villains, is spot on and hilarious. Chris’s narration is energetic and fun. We are fans of the series and can’t wait to hear the next book.
