Key West Detective David Sharkey just returned from Disneyland vacation with the kids and Burt Harris wrapping up the slowest week in a long time is notified of skeletal remains found in the Gulf waters off Key West. But before the bones are even delivered, they get a cryptic call from Florida State Law Enforcement to stand down because the state has jurisdiction over events in Florida State waters and they are sending a detective to Key West to lead the investigation.

Enter Detective Maggie Stranton, who quickly identifies the identity of the three skeletons, using the state missing person data base. Sharkey and Harris are impressed by her work.

However, while they are investigating the cold case victims, the killer strikes again turning the case hot. But this time the death is not just a tourist but directly impacts the community. As the case unfolds it is apparent that the killer thinks he’s in control, and the end will come on his terms and his timing.

In a series of chilling events the killer makes it apparent that he has changed his deadly focus to Detective Maggie Stranton as his next victim. Detective Sharkey and Harris now fear they will not be able stop Maggie from taking drastic and dangerous measures to catch this unknown killer.
