About this listen

In this entertaining and inspirational memoir, Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke shares his secret to staying resilient in old age.

Beloved Hollywood icon Dick Van Dyke will celebrate his 90th birthday in December 2015. He's an established legend, having starred in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. And yet he's still keeping himself busy, entertaining America on television, in movies, on the stage, and on social media. Everyone wonders, "How does he do it?" For the first time, Van Dyke shares his secrets and tips on old age - just keep moving.

With a fun and folksy way of addressing its audience, Keep Moving serves as an instruction audiobook on how to embrace old age with a positive attitude. The chapters are filled with exclusive personal anecdotes that explore various themes on aging: how to adapt to the physical and social changes, deal with loss of friends and loved ones, stay current, fall in love again, and "keep moving" every day like there's no tomorrow.

I grew up loving Dick Van Dyke. He always seemed to me to be a genuinely lovely man. His autobiography has done nothing to sway my mind. It has done the opposite.

At a time when I am feeling a little, his voice is like a comforting father’s and his stories uplifting.

I have tried to listen to other autobiographies narrated by the authors and many fail to capture me. Some I just can’t listen to as they aren’t natural ‘readers’ of stories. This book was pure joy to listen to. It was as if he was just reminiscing naturally.

His life stories are life lessons. Amazing.

Joyous and uplifting.

I'm in my late 60's, and can remember Dick Van Dyke, from The Dick Van Dyke show, and have always enjoyed his work. Around 12 years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I was moving slower then my parents, in their late 80's other people i know with this condition that are younger then me, are in wheelchairs, so like Dick, I keep moving. A very enjoyable book, about an amazing man.

Are you already a big Dick Van Dyke fan? Don't bother answering, it doesn't matter; you need to listen to this even if, somehow, you haven't even heard of him before. Excellent writing that's smart and funny, delivered with a consistently pitch-perfect performance, this is one of the best audiobooks you could treat yourself to.

Can't recommend this enough

What a warm fun audio about a man who just still amazes me all these years later. The warmth as kids I felt watching him in Mary Poppins comes across beautifully in this audio and I can’t say anything bad about this as I just loved it.

Loved it
