Summary

When Claire, an overachieving psychologist with OCD tendencies, hires Lana, an impulsive, out-of-work actress for a fake relationship, she figures the worst she'll have to endure are the messes Lana leaves around. It's only for a few months anyway. And it's not as if she'll enjoy all those fake kisses and loving looks. Right?

A lesbian romance where role-playing has never been so irresistible.

Contains mature themes.

Lovely story and narration

Cute, sweet story with just the right amount of passion, doubts, humor and sex. Honestly the sex scenes are amazingly well written and realistic. Narrator Angela Dawe is impressive and moulds her voice to every character effortlessly.

Wonderfully engaging and highly recommend

Whilst there is a predictive path, this is a really lovely and heart warming story of love that is beautifully written and expertly narrated. A real hope inspiring and spirit lifter of a book. I am particularly fond of Jae as a writer and Angela Dawe brings this to life perfectly.

Great Story!

I really enjoyed this book. While the story was a familiar theme, the fake girlfriend relationship, the telling was well done and filled with emotion and humor. Narrator Angela Dawe is superb doing different voices and accents. Her changes in vocal tone really make you believe there are different characters, each of whom she brings to life. A good story and and great narration make this book a must read!

Seriously, I Loved this Audiobook!

this is the 3rd Jae audiobook I've read/heard and I really liked the first two, but, Just For Show was the best so far. I loved it! I liked the idea of fun, sexy-voiced Lana moving in and making a mess in controlling, workaholic Claire's house. they have a business deal to pretend to be engaged and they've only just met. good thing Lana is an actress... seems simple, and I love it! I really wanted to listen to this in one day but couldn't. really found it hard to stop listening. narrator did an amazing job! l loved Lana's deep voice and fun attitude. great book!

Just for show!

This is by far one of my favorite books/audiobooks this year. The narration was so honest and the differences between the personalities were so evident. I love the storyline and how it moved so organically. Kudos to Jae for being able to create characters that are so opposite but work so well together

Lovely Romance

What I love about Jae’s books is that I end up happy that the main couple get together.

Just for Show is my favourite fauxmance story and I adore Claire and Lana because they so obviously make each other a more rounded person.

The stakes are personal and equally understandable, the pace of the romance is also quite organic for me. By the time they finally admitted their feelings I was giddy with happiness.

This is the second book I’ve listened to by Angela Dawe and love the smoky voice she uses for Leo from Perfect Rhythm and in this book Lana.

If I had to nitpick I think there was a mistake st 41:48 of chapter 21 of 22. Where she says Abbie instead of Claire but otherwise I loved the emotional inflections Angela infuses her voice with during the emotional scenes and had my heart beating faster during one of the emotionally intense scenes with Lana late in the book.

All in all, you can’t go wrong with this book and like all of Jae’s books if not a direct sequel to something you can jump straight in without worrying about getting lost.

Funny and Sweet

I loved this book and will likely read it again soon. The humor was A+ and I enjoyed the real differences between the two main characters. I kind of wished something happened between them sooner in the book but the pacing was really good overall. One thing I noticed that should be corrected, is in Chapter 21 at one point Claire is called Abby. It is definitely a slip up that needs to be corrected ASAP. Overall though, this is now one of my favorite books, no doubt.

Great story and narration.

This was such a great story, and the narration did a great job. My only quip was Lana’s voice sounding a little too old, other than that Angela did a great job. Every character was distinct and different.

The story was great and the narrator simply fantastic. I struggle to find audiobooks that really hold my interest due to the fact that a good book can be ruined by a not so good voice and vice verse. This one exceeded in both.

Another great read from Jae!

I couldn't get enough and wished it wouldn't end. The characters were well developed and easy to route for as Jae makes us fall in love with both the story and the characters. The narrator rocked!
