About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

How gratitude can get the life you really want...

Gratitude is your soul's superfood, but cheaper than goji berries, and twice as good for you. I like to think of it as mindfulness for cynics or the 'gateway drug' to spirituality. It's a very tangible thing you can do everyday that will shift your focus to what you have rather than pining and obsessing over what you don't have. Away from a state of lack into limitless abundance....

So what happens when we stop taking things for granted and start putting some grá* into our gratitude? When we consciously turn our heads and hearts to what we have and focus on the good? In Joyrider, television presenter and host of the podcast Thanks a Million, Angela Scanlon, presents her guide to tapping into your own natural super resource—joy.

This audiobook is an invitation to embrace the kind of gratitude that cuts through the bullshit of life to its truth, connecting us with the present and grounding us in self. When there is so much to feel anxious about, Angela shares with listeners how focusing our attention on the small, incremental positives in life can completely change it for the better.

* It means love in Irish.

I loved this book. It resonated with me in so many different ways. Angela managed to convey beautiful insights and life practices, weaved into wonderful anecdotes and funny stories. A whole load of delicious wisdom and a ton of laughs too. I wasn’t ready for it to end. It’s been such a treat in my ears on a dog walk or drive.

A real treat in my ears

I really loved this and I love the matter of fact approach and down to earth humour. The advice is great too. I just wish it were a little longer.

Such a pleasant listen

This is home in a book, Angela is the unfiltered truth of Ireland . She’s my comfort blanket, my go too when I’m home sick. This book was so well written and delivered , felt like I was sat listening to a friend around a Irish table full of food and drink and a good gossip. Very raw and real . Everything you could want from Angela herself . Brilliant!! grá mór
