About this listen
An invitation to a medieval festival. A ferry ride to a mysterious island. A scheming, inept witch. An office break-in, an unidentified body, and a string of suspects. Can Hayden, her brave, sassy cat, Latifa, and the people of Destiny Falls solve the mystery and enjoy the festival?
Jousting and Justice follows the series format of combining two stories that blend into one. This audiobook contains a murder mystery and island mystery.
The Island Mystery: Hayden and all her friends get an invitation to a medieval festival—but it's on "the forbidden island." It's too enticing to pass up. Of course, strange things will happen once they get there! You'll also learn the truth about the witch's sister!
The Murder Mystery: A dead body shows up in the most shocking place. First, they need to figure out who this dead guy is. Then, who killed him, and why. There are so many twists and turns on the way to the answers! But we know that Hayden, Latifa, and their family and friends will figure it out, and justice will be served.
Hayden’s many adventures in Destiny Falls will keep you guessing with each book in this intriguing series.

This is book five in the series and it just gets better and better, especially as we learn more about the characters and the magical island. There is a long running mystery which focus on mystical island and the characters that live there, which we learn more about in each new book. Then there is a murder that needs solving, this one does get wrapped up. Both are interesting and well worked into the plot of the adventure but it is the characters that have me returning time and again, The characters are all so much fun from the bright and colourful Cellobella and her wonderful costumes, Latifa the sneaky mystery solving cat, Bear the Bear shifter cook, the full of surprises Grandmother to name just a few and trust me there are a whole lot more. I liked the medieval festival theme through out the story and it was so easy to picture, I am sure I heard the clashing of the lances. The story is not left on a cliff hanger as such but it has set it up for the next book, so be prepared to want to the next book. Just a great book written by a talented author that paints pictures with words but don't just take my word for it, give it a go yourself and make up your own mind.
It's not everyday that Hayden receives an invitation to a medieval festival on the forbidden island but when she and the rest of the resident's from the island of Destiny Falls get one it creates a party atmosphere. The only dampener is a mess in her office and the discovery of a dead body. Costume planning is put on hold as Hayden and the rest of the gang try to find out who the dead man was and more importantly who killed him. Why was he in Hayden's office in the first place? A note seems to show he was set up and his death was planned. But why? Hayden and the gang investigation leads them to a number of secrets but with the medieval festival it's self having secrets, things are going to get dicey.
I liked the narrator. She is just as colourful and entertaining as the story its self.
