wrong title

misleading title. basically its a bio of the journalist with Jose mentioned in passing. not an expose or account of mourinho at all.

A biased Love story of a Journalist and Mourinho

Great if your a chelsea fan and love a biased view of a lot of Chelsea "incidents", more of a vomit inducing love story between the author and Mourinho/Chelsea

Insightful view of José

Insightful perspective of José , his philosophy on life as well as a football coach , from someone who knew him as a friend as well as a coach of renown

Don't waste your money or credit

I was really looking forward to this to get some real insight to Jose who I noticed when he knock Man Utd in the champions league and the went on to manage Chelsea, I have compared him to be the modern day Brian Clough.
Unfortunately you have little or no insight to the man and most of the information is what you have picked up in the news or internet.
It may be of interest if you are a journalist or seeking a career in that field unfortunately I am not.
I felt I found more about the author more than Jose.
There are some snippets you may not of heard.
My advice would be to wait for Jose to finish his career him release his biography which he is intelligent enough to write himself and then you will get to see the real Man.
I have read and listened to many football books and biographies from players and managers and this was by far the poorest and most disappointing !

v poor

gives no real insight into anything. mostly recounts match reviews which are all available online anyway. misleading description. irrelevant bits about Chelsea and also about his journalism career, borderline narcissistic.

A great "read" . Shame about the narration.

As a Chelsea fan, I really enjoyed this. Some tasty titbits that I had forgotten about and some that I never knew about. It's just a shame that the choice of narrator was Ric Jerrom. His almost comical attempts at mimicking Jose's accent and his pronunciation of "azaard" and other such attempts at "foreign" names grated after a while.

More about the journalist than jose

All about the journalist, the description appears to be copied from another Mourinho book (Mourinho on football). Up close and personal goes into very little if any of the description

Below Average

No real storyline, disappointing that the book doesn't expand on Jose' time at Inter given that a treble in serie a has never been done in the history of football. The author turns the book into small stories about himself and Chelsea occasionally adding a small part of Jose into it. Narrator doesn't know how to pronounce key words, also does really strange accents to distinguish quotes etc.

Poor Quality

Unless you are a Chelsea fan I would not recommended this title. The writer is very self serving and provides as much insight that could be gleaned by anyone doing a simple Google search.

Thanks Audible for the speed setting, it would have been a terrible waste of time to listen to this title in normal speed.

The author focuses far too much on himself rather then the subject matter the listeners are interested in. He spends too much time attempting to portray tabloid journalism as noble and possess integrity but who is he trying to kid!!

Roger Beasley should be dropped

The book should be called Robert Beasley tells us how great with occasional anecdotes thrown in by Jose Mourinho from time to time. The guy spent 24 chapters patting himself on the back before I finally just gave up. I'm the biggest Jose a fan in the world which is why I bought the book... this was dreadful... painful!

Only useful for a Chelsea supporter

Book is just full of stories and stats from Jose’s time as Chelsea manager (author is a Chelsea fan as well), I was actually hoping the author would have given more insight into his time in Madrid (which actually made me get the book in the first instance). Yeah, so it’s a good read for Chelsea fans.
