Story
Danny Wallace had been staying in. Far too much. Having been dumped by his girlfriend, he really wasn't doing the young, free and single thing very well. Instead he was avoiding people. Texting them instead of calling them. Calling them instead of meeting them. That is until one fateful date when a mystery man on a late-night bus told him to 'say yes more'. These three simple words changed Danny's life forever. Yes Man is the story of what happened when Danny decided to say YES to everything.

Story
You're not imagining it. People are getting ruder. And this is a serious problem. The book that inspired the iTunes Top Ten podcast. Did you know that even one rude comment in a life-and-death situation can decrease a surgeon’s performance by as much as 50 percent? That we say we don’t want rude politicians, but we vote for them anyway? Or that rude language can sway a jury in a criminal case? Best-selling writer and broadcaster Danny Wallace (Yes Man, Awkward Situations for Men) is on a mission to understand where we have gone wrong.

Which is a shame... because Dave Gorman likes playing. He REALLY likes games. So he knocked on the biggest door you could ever imagine - the internet - and asked 76,000 people if they fancied a game. For almost a decade, Richard Herring has been answering sexist trolls on International Women's Day when they ask 'when is International Men's Day?' in the mistaken belief there isn't one. If only the trolls had learned to use Google they'd realise that there is an International Men's Day - it's on November 19th. In The Problem with Men Richard expands on his Twitter discussions and tackles some of the big questions surrounding the problems of toxic masculinity - for women, but also for men.

After all, click the mouse, tap the screen, flick the channel and it’s on to the next thing. But Dave Gorman thinks it’s time to have a closer look, to find out how much nonsense we tacitly accept. Suspicious adverts, baffling newspaper headlines, fake twitter, endless cat videos, insane TV shows where the presenters ask the same questions over and over.

Looking back at his journey to adulthood, Iain explores why millennials are the way they are - and whether that makes us self-obsessed, work-shy, mollycoddled egomaniacs or just a misunderstood generation with a crippling fear of failure. Millennials have been celebrated and scorned; they’re the envy, fascination and disgrace of the world. But is there more to this #selfie- and avocado-obsessed generation that can’t grow up than meets the eye?

Story
At last, the definitive audiobook about perhaps the best cabin crew dramedy ever filmed: View from the Top starring Gwyneth Paltrow. In Ayoade on Top, Richard Ayoade, perhaps one of the most 'insubstantial' people of our age, takes us on a journey from Peckham to Paris by way of Nevada and other places we don't care about. It's a journey deep within, in a way that's respectful and non-invasive; a journey for which we will all pay a heavy price, even if you've waited for the smaller paperback edition. Ayoade argues for the canonisation of this brutal masterpiece.

Gordy LaSure's passionate about film. He eats film, he drinks film, and sometimes he'll even watch a film. But most of all, he loves talking about film, and how they'd be a shit-ton better if only people would pull their asses out of their ears and listen to Gordy LaSure. Why are some films bad and some films terrible? How come just a handful of films (Titanic, Porky's, Dirty Harry) are any good at all? Gordy'll tell you How and Why, and he'll give you a shot of Wherefore on the side. And he doesn't shoot from the hip; he shoots from the gut.

A constant comfort in James' life has been music, but he's not listened to anything new for a very long time. Idly browsing 'best of the year' lists, it dawns on him that 2016 may have been a grim year for a lot of reasons, but that it seemed to be an iconic year for music. And so begins a life-changing musical odyssey, as James finds himself desperately seeking solace in the music of 2016....

A book about dreams, ambition, and the responsibility that comes with power, Join Me is the true story of a man who created a cult by accident, and is proof that whilst some men were born to lead, others really haven't got a clue.

Love that it was read by the author, Danny Wallace is brilliant!
What did you like best about this story?

What about Danny Wallace’s performance did you like?
Brilliant delivery and true emotion
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Really made me laugh.
Any additional comments?
I really wish that it was the unabridged version, which I read several years ago and loved and missed some of the stand out stories from that for a fuller overall experience. But still brilliant fun and Danny gives an excellent and hilarious performance as always.
