Summary
Leipzig, im November 1726. Heimlich schleicht Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach seinem Vater in die Thomaskirche nach, als dieser für sein neues Stück an der Orgel herumprobiert. Eine Gänsehaut bekommt er in seinem dunklen Versteck, weil die Musik zur "Matthäuspassion", so soll das neue Stück heißen, so schaurig, so schön und so traurig ist. Aber er darf sich bloß nicht erwischen lassen, sonst gibt es ein Donnerwetter. Vater Johann Sebastian Bach, der Thomaskantor von Leipzig, kann nämlich ganz schön zornig werden - vor allem, wenn er bei der Arbeit an der Matthäuspassion gestört wird, die ihm doch so gar nicht leicht von der Hand gehen will...
Das Hörspiel lässt uns die Entstehung der Matthäuspassion aus der Perspektive des damals ca. 12-jährigen Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach miterleben. Zudem erklingen die eindringlichsten Passagen der Matthäuspassion noch einmal in voller Länge.
