This book brought out so many emotions. It was intense and captivating and kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the end. Siobhan Davis is a new-to-me author so this is the first book in the series that I have listened to. While it is a standalone, there were so many references to things that happened in Abby's story that I really want to listen to the complete series in order from book 1. If you like dark romance and don't have any triggers, then this series is definitely for you. Sarah Puckett is a wonderful storyteller and always does an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I've never heard of Jay Alder before this book, but he also did a good job bringing this story to life.

Jackson by Siobhan Davis is a dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Jay Alder. This is the fifth book in the Rydeville Elite Series but can be read as a stand-alone.

The book does come with a warning “Due to mature content and themes, this audiobook is recommended to readers aged 18 and over. Some scenes may be triggering.”

This is the first book of Siobhan’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning and I can’t wait to go back and read books 1 – 4 of this series to get the rest of the characters story. I really enjoyed the relationship between Vanessa and Jackson.

Sarah and Jay did a great job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances or romantic suspense.

I had a bit of a hard time connecting with the characters. I kind of just wanted to smack both of them upside the head, but mainly just Jackson.

How much can one person go through! Siobhan definitely puts Vanessa through the wringer. The fact that she comes out on top mentally and emotionally is beyond me. My heart broke for that girl.

It took way too long for Jackson to own up to his feelings for Vanessa. Honestly, he’s probably my least favorite H from the author. He was unnecessarily mean. I definitely don’t like how easily Nessa forgave him, but with the way the plot was it makes sense.

In the end he kind of redeemed himself. He needs to be groveling for the rest of their fiction lives.

With all that being said, I still enjoyed the book.

Both Sarah Puckett & Jay Alder did a great job narrating!

Book 5 in the Rhydeville Elite series focuses on Vanessa & Jackson.

Fair warning to listeners... this series goes pretty dark and there are instances of assault and mentions of rape, so if thats your trigger, turn back now.

Jackson is a man bent on avenging his sister, even if that means he has to purposely begin operation Seduce Vanessa when a chance encounter has her living alone and working in a small diner. He does everything he can to get close to the former party girl because he knows something he's not sure she doesnt... who her father is, and after he killed Trent, she's the only Heir to the seat her father has on The Elite to control the vote. Thankfully, the rest of Jackson's Anti-Elite squad were Team Nessa from pretty much the beginning when she got a scholarship to attend the same college as them and found out about his plans. Jackon is convinced Nessa knows more than she's saying and his anger keeps her in the dark, which only increases the danger she didn't realise was stalking her, and Jackson's bullheadedness might lose him the girl he loves, to the predator hes been hunting who destroyed his sister.

A very thrilling well performed read.
