Getting Stale but not bad
the promise of this author's series is limited sense unless the child gives her permission to actually use Jack reacher she'll never be able to incorporate him into the arc.
also dislike how they always make him the bad guy and then only to find out he's not.
story was decent held my interest but I did sometimes lose focus because it's more the same but the main character will never be in these series and the main character isn't Otto it's Jack reacher.
I had six credits on audible I bought six books in the series three of them were short stories and three were full novels that's 80 bucks not sure I'm doing anymore

Pathetic attempt to cash in on Reacher
What would have made Jack and Joe better?
If it had a story to tell other than looking for Jack Reacher. A little action and intrigue would also have been good.
What was most disappointing about Diane Capri’s story?
That there was no story.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the prospect of "seeing" Lt Summer again was first raised. That was short-lived. Summer was dangled as a coming treat in such a way that it soon became obvious it would never happen. How and why I won't write here in case a reader of this decides to listen anyway, but it wasn't exciting.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. Lee Child can't possible write Jack Reacher stories fast enough. Finding this series was thrilling - it seemed like a good idea. I could not finish the story - got halfway through and was still waiting for something to happen. Boring and disappointing.
Any additional comments?
I rated the performance 3 stars as the narrator reads well - though her male voices were all alike - slow and raspy - but that probably would have be a minor thing if the story was any good.

Getting better
I liked this book better than I had the previous "Search for Reacher" books. However, I'm not sure I like the overall approach. Not that there's anything wrong with the story or the way it's told. I guess I picked these up expecting a traditional Reacher style story. The stories are a pretty good third-party view of Reacher. But, they lack the compelling natural law based visceral experience of a good Reacher story. I will keep listening as they are getting better.

A well-written story from a very good author
I received an advance copy from the author. FBI agents Otto and Gaspar have formed an opinion of Jack Reacher that is at odds with that of most of Lee Child's longtime readers. This installment in The Hunt for Reacher series continues filling in Reacher's backstory. Jack and Joe gives more information about the brothers' relationship, Otto and Gaspar are having their opinions changed as they discover the true character of Lee Child's best known character.
