Summary

Jotham is the king of the House of Protection. He was the youngest male ever to assume the position because of the sudden death of his father in Jotham's 20th cycle. In the last 40 cycles, he married his life mate, Lata, and lost her in a transport accident. He had two sons and lost one due to his son's own treachery. Now his first son, Barek, is interested in a woman, and Jotham is going to find out everything about her he can.

Jacinda is from the House of Healing. She is the widow of an assemblyman for the House of Protection. Stephan was her life mate even though he was 20 cycles older than she. His sudden death devastated her, and if it weren't for her three children, she isn't sure she would have survived. In the years that have followed his death, she has learned to live with her loss and, more importantly, that life can still be good. She has healed.

When Jotham summons Jacinda to the Palace, his only intent is for her to help him gather information on Amina, Jacinda's great-niece. That plan goes out the window when Jacinda refuses. She challenges not only his right to interfere in Barek's life but questions how he's lived his own since Lata's death.

Two strong personalities come together after having loved and suffered loss. Can they find enough common ground and courage to chance a new love? Or are they destined to live the rest of their lives alone?

She's done it again!!! This is another great instalment in this series. I can't wait for Baraks story or even Staphanies.

Jacinda's Challenge

I have never read a series of book that caught and held my imagination as completely as this one has , even the music adds to the mystery of the whole story. I read the whole of this book from beginning to thrilling end and am now awaiting the next thrilling story in this series with baited breath. I am still waiting to see if their will be another story into series please don't let it and with just 3 books in this series.

The voice of Jotham was over the top in places

I enjoyed this story it is also introduction to other characters in future books however. the voice of Jotham was way over the top especially during the sex scenes he was basically yelling everything and it made laugh instead generating the heat the author intended. but overall a good story.

Love the Series

I'm so very excited to have book3 of the Imperial series in audio. Just wish the ending wasn't so abrupt. It just seems to hang out there. I actually love all M.K. Eidem books and can't wait for her to release more books. Wishing lots of happy, productive moments for MKE. Love the multi voice narration, too.

Sweet story but the absolutely WORSE narration I have ever heard.

This is my first review because I had to warn others. I love this author; how could she have allowed this narration to destroy Jacinda's sweet story. Jautom's voice was so fake and pretentious. "Come for me Jacinda, come NOW". UGH, really. He acted like he thought he was reading Shakespeare (but really, really badly). Jacinda's voice fluctuated in and out of soprano but was tolerable because Jautom's narration was sooo bad.

Very Distracting

I was pretty disappointed with this book. Not because I didn't enjoy the story (which is actually my favorite in the series), but because the narrator RUINED the voice of King Jotham. His reading of Jotham's voice was easily one of the most annoying and distracting things I've ever heard.

Such a good story

I love all these books. Don't know what else to say. All audible books should be like this.

Amazing!!

What can I say but that I have loved all her books. Each one is different but connect and I keep wanting more after each one. Plus she leaves it open to hear other stories. Can wait for the next one to come out!!!

Melinda Johnson

I'll have to say that this is the best narrated book along with all of MK Ediem's books. Sets the new standard for all!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!

This was another enthralling story for this futuristic world. I hope it will continue. There are so many other characters that need to have their own story told. Please M.K., give us more.

No She Didn't!!!

M.K.Eidem you couldn't possibly be finished with this series! I have been so engaged with this series and I hate that this is the last book although I hope it is not. The narration was outstanding beyond anything I have experienced in audiobooks thus far. Sound effects, music, singing OMG. I have loved the characters and couldn't wait for their next life experience! Okay M.K. get to it, your word processor awaits.

Well worth it

I loved this series. The narrators did a wonderful job. King Jotham’s voice wasn’t quite what I thought it would be, but oh man William’s voice (Gary Gordon) was super sexy. I have read and listened to this series about 20 times, seriously I have! The story and the characters a very well put together.
