About this listen
The world is infested with demons, vampires, and ghosts who clash with wizards on the fringes of society. Faced with these horrors, there's only one thing a small-time wizard can do: absolutely nothing. Doing something could get a man killed.
Armed only with a modern view of magic, a snarky bloodthirsty apprentice, and no concept of the phrase "fair fight", Maker is far too weak to try and change the world. But when a new group of warlocks moves into the area with the goal of making his life more interesting, Maker will find sitting on the bench is easier said than done.
©2017 Jester Bobbity (P)2018 Jester BobbityOk, so the cover art isn't the best ever and the narration, whilst great for the main character is a little smudgy for the others, but that doesn't detract.
Couldn't find out much about this author. Other people seem to believe this to be a pseudonym for a previously successful author. If that is the case it does explain the competence of the book.
The plot seems to providing the chance for sequels. If so I'm definitely in.
For your info, no gratuitous swearing, no sexual content, female characters are people and not fantasized bimbettes and whilst there is some violence it wasn't dwelled on or gloried in.
