Summary

Ruth "Ruthless" Harper is on the verge of becoming managing partner at her all-male consulting firm and she won't let anything stand in her way. That includes men, relationships, and that dreaded F word, feelings - distractions she eliminated long ago.

After the worst day ever (a near-death experience and a public wedgie, for starters), Ruth realizes she doesn't want to live and die alone. She puts together a business plan to find the perfect man and dives head first into the murky online dating pool. All she wants is a high-powered executive who understands how important her career is. If only it were that easy.

Problem is most men are intimidated by Ruth's confidence and shocked by her bluntness. The exception being her landscape designer, Nick, whose cool demeanor and unsolicited dating advice are driving her nuts. He's the antithesis of the business-oriented man Ruth envisions for herself, so why do all signs keep pointing back to him?

Definitely recommend for a quick and easy listen.

Here it is..... a romcom with people who aren't in their 20s, who just happen to stumble upon the dream job and dream guy. This one is about what life is more often like. About what happens if you invest 10 years of your life in one thing, only to one day realise it's no longer everything you want.

The plot is a nice pace, and the characters are quirky and relatable. The audio narration is great.

old and stale

I'm not a fan of romance novels. I was really hoping for more humor than the all to old and stale romance style.
I've never been a fan, but who's to say others would not love the book.
The reader, in my opinion doesn't move from one character to another well, thus leaving the reading something to be desired.

One of My Favorite Books

I could read this story over and over again and again. It was my first Rich Amooi book I read, so I couldn't wait to get the Audiobook when it came out. It a great book with great qualities and hilarious hijinks. Carly Robins is okay but how can anyone be bad at narrating any of Rich Amooi books because they're all so well written and they all have good clean humor. Bagel Barny is awesome and funny because he is so clueless. I will definitely be reading this book over and over again.

Love the story.

Funny and entertaining, meet Ruth, a workaholic following her life plan. Meet Nick, he loves designing and getting his hands dirty with landscaping. We know opposites attract, but can they make it.

Love this story

What a wonderful treat this story is! I loved every word. Funny, believable, romantic, HEA. And while the narrator herself isn’t horrible (meaning I could still listen with enjoyment), it’s the first time I wished for dual narration. The narrator doesn’t even try to read Nick’s story in a male voice, so it’s a little disconcerting and confusing when you remember she’s reading his chapters. Fortunately, those were few and far between. I may read the story next time, instead of listening, but either choice is rewarding.

Reminiscent

Laughing out loud. Tough chuckle meets her match. Life changes. Evolution of characters. Fun to listen to. Reminds me of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas, Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin, or so many other great actor combos of Romantic Comedy.

Enjoyable

Overall it was a cute story. The main issue is the Narrator didn’t change her voice enough between the characters so it got confusing a few times. The story had all the essential romantic comedy plot points so overall enjoyable.
