About this listen

As a 17-year-old virgin working...for Virgin, Joel Dommett has grand ambitions. Firstly, he is going to swap suburbia for the bright lights of showbiz. Secondly, he is going to find 'the one' - and sets himself the very achievable target of finding her in the first 50 people he's definitely going to sleep with.

What follows is a series of disastrous romantic encounters, including carpets mistaken for toilets, futile grand gestures and the catfishing to end all catfishing.

Featuring genuine teenage diary entries and told in Joel's trademark self-deprecating style, this is the brilliant first book from the UK's most exciting comedian.

I have read nearly 300 books and only two have left me compelled to write brief review.
After two weeks of work and life stress resulting in a very grumpy old mare I bought this book as I love Joel on telly and it truly cheered me up.
Joel has managed with this book to take the reader on a nostalgic journey filled with charming and at times moving tales that anyone could have experienced.
I clearly have no idea how to write a review but trust me when i say it is just a light, funny, funny book.

Joel, thank you on behalf of me children for jolting their mum out of a funk.
Congratulations on finding the one and sharing the love. xx

Laughed like a drain. Well done Joel what a treat.

Simply fantastically funny, honest and a great audible book. A wonderfully different approach to an autobiography.

Fucking amazing!

This book is truly one of the most funny and relatable books I have heard. Made even better by Joel reading it himself which I think always a brill move by a comedian.
I recommend to any child of the early nineties who who worn studded belts instead of popped collar polo shirts (if you know you know.)
Fab work and the beautiful ending.

Hilarious, relatable and honest read!

I love comedy gigs, films, tv shows etc, but I rarely laugh out loud, however this was my first ever audio book and I listened to it in the gym (pre Covid) and I can’t tell you how daft I felt so many times when I found myself laughing out loud! I knew Joelbefore but I truly started following his career, I feel invested in his career! Like watching a child leave home! It’s not like I can relate to his sexual exploits - usually disastrously, being a 58 yr old grandmother, but that didn’t matter, I ha e recommended it to so many people.

Excellent
