About this listen

Daniel Reyes spent years believing silence was easier than truth. Raised in a home where vulnerability was dismissed and emotions were treated like weakness, he learned to shrink himself to survive. But when a year of loss, betrayal, and unraveling finally forces him to confront the pain he buried as a child, Daniel begins a journey that transforms him in ways he never expected.

What begins as a quiet attempt to understand his past becomes a powerful reckoning with generational wounds, paternal absence, and the emotional inheritance so many men are taught to carry alone. Along the way, Daniel discovers what healing really requires: courage, clarity, and the willingness to choose himself even when others will not.

It Ends With Him is a moving story about breaking cycles, reclaiming identity, and redefining strength on your own terms. For anyone who has ever carried the weight of silence, questioned their worth, or wondered if their story could end differently, this book is a reminder:

You can start again.

You can rewrite what came before.

And the ending does not have to match the beginning.

Wow. This was a powerful and deeply moving story. It is honest and raw when talking about the emotions and struggles Daniel was dealing with. But it was also encouraging and inspirational as he faces his past.

I have been following Linda’s writing for some time, and it’s encouraging to see how, book after book, she manages to reinvent herself while maintaining the core messages she always tries to convey in her stories.

This time, the author focuses on a male character, which is new for her, yet she keeps everything I love about her writing. The story follows a character of Spanish descent who is searching for expiation from the traumas of a past that forced him to repress his pain. After years of suffering, he finally decides to let everything out and start fighting his demons. He will heal, but not in the way he expects.

Daniel’s story is the story of many people: working a 9-to-5 job almost every day, rushing to try to be a good person, worrying about a father who never seems satisfied no matter what you do, and not knowing what your place in the world is. That’s what I call a great story worth listening to carefully, and with this audiobook version, I ended up listening to it in a single sitting.

Daniel reflects so many of us in quiet, honest ways. He doesn’t change overnight or suddenly have everything figured out. Instead, he learns to question old beliefs, sit with difficult emotions and slowly reclaim his sense of worth. Watching his growth shows that healing is often messy, gradual, and uncomfortable. His struggles and breakthroughs made it easy to reflect on how many people carry unspoken pain simply because they were never taught how to express it. It also serves as a gentle reminder that learning to understand and value ourselves is a process.. one that takes patience, courage, and compassion.
