Summary

The enemy is coming. The enemy is already here.

For years they’ve prepared, plotted, and planned. For years they’ve waited to strike from above and below.

Earth is under siege. The enemy covers the landscape. Proxima is unharmed. But that’s about to change.

No armies can stop this menace, and no defenses can slow the advance. We are scattered and isolated. We are ignorant and weak. No help is coming. No help remains...or does it?

Old heroes will sacrifice everything. New heroes will rise.

brilliant sci fi

Great book, masterfully read by Mr Bray. A little confusing at times keeping up with all the different characters and alien enemies in play. looking forward to the next book in the series

POS is not PAUSE

I've seen other reviews stating this and the prior book were horrible because the narrator was reading the script wrong.
These reviewers assumed when the narrator was saying POS, that they were meaning PAUSE. POS is short for POSITIVE, like affirmative or copy. They are not saying pause.
Aside from clearing that, they should know that R.C. Bray is a demi god. he was sired by Zeus himself. Zeus placed his seed inside the womb of a great and terrible Siren in of the ocean. This is why Mr Bray's voice is so alluring and hypnotic.
The book was ok too.

To reviewer Max

I wanted to explain to Max that "pause" isn't "pause", but "pos". As in a truncated form of "positive". In this world, we have left the word "affirmative" behind and use "pos" instead. Took me by surprise as well, but I figured it out around the 3rd time hearing it.
Love this book, btw. I am a Bray fanboy and sometimes its hard for me to separate the book from R.C. Brays performance. But I think that's why I love him so much, if a plot is a bit flat, he can literally breath life into it. I'm a fan of this series though, monsters, mobile suits and super powers. That suits me just fine!

too much game of thrones...

g.o.t. formula of killing off all likeable characters in the story got waaay over done in this story and the overall series, unless that's what you're into...

Great book

Great book but I like the reader from the first books better. It was still good but probably just used to the first guy.

New narrator threw me off.

Took a few chapters to get into this one, only because it's a different narrator then the rest.

Intense

After reading the first book in this series I worked out there are a stack of back stories you need to read to really have any hope of knowing WTF is going on in this one. So this book made a lot more sense. I’m not convinced the enemy is realistic, given their power and goals they should have zero problem turning us all into drooling slaves without the need for bloodshed. But hey, it’s a good story with great characters. Recommend you read it.

Great book

I really enjoyed this book. I am now waiting for the next book to release on Audible. The story is fast paced and exciting. As usual, R.C.Bray does a fantastic job of narrating.

random and jarring "pause"

I dont know why, but there is a random " pause" as if it was part of the dialog while it makes no sense. I have a feeling whatever the narrator received probably didn't make the distinction between when to "pause" and what was part of the text. Just a word of caution, it is very jarring to hear the word "pause" randomly but the story is still solid.
