Summary

A story to contemplate

I loved the book and narration. Very representative of southern Italy, culturally rich of anecdotes.

Wonderful story, brilliant (if fast!) narration

I first saw the film adaptation of this book, then read the English translation before I read the novel in Italian so I already had a very good understanding of this compelling story of friendship, family and betrayal, but I still found I got new things out of this brilliant audio adaptation. Michele Riondino's narration is really wonderful, but he doesn't half rattle through this! I had to listen at 85% speed to stand a chance. Learnt lots of new vocabulary too! Excellent.
