Summary

He'd been mine - until I made the biggest mistake of my life.

I thought if I put enough time and distance between us, my heart could forget him.

I thought wrong.

Drake Foster owns my heart, my entire being. He always will.

As the pieces of what happened to us begin to fall into place, I realize our relationship had been sabotaged.

We'd been pawns in a game neither of us knew we were playing, and our relationship was the price we paid.

Now, we must find our way together before it's too late.

Alexa's narrator is not right for hhis novel.

Great book. Great author. However, Alexa's narrator spoke every sentence in a crescendo manner that heads towards some kind of orgasmic climax. The most basic action of pulling into a drive or drinking coffee was breathy and overdramatic. It was vastly irritating because I HAD to stick it out to solve the mystery. I was relieved everytime it was Drake's turn to speak. I should have given up on this audible and ordered the ebook.

Good find in a sea of romantic suspense if you’re having trouble finding something fresh

Male narrator great, female narrator kind of bugged me. Almost every line was over the top dramatic, like is she ever just chill? Otherwise a good read with some twists that I saw coming but still kept me hooked. I liked the Alaskan setting and had an easy time visualizing this. Some aspects felt forced... like a psa (drug use). Others fell short, like a little more detail in the why/how of the ending. Loose ends tied up a bit quickly, for how slowly things moved in the beginning. It all came together though.

Why?!

I was so disappointed in this audible. The point of this story was so immature and silly. I could not tolerate the way Lex allowed her family to treat her. A grown ass woman allowing her family to berate her and basically treat her like crap - it gets old when that's what the entire book is about. The letter she received from her father - I mean a child should know her own father's handwriting....SILLY. Teddy was really the only reason I purchased this audible which I could not finish - not even for him. I will not follow this series.

Name

I enjoyed this book completely, but I sure wish the girl had a different name. I had to listen to it with earbuds because every time it said Alexa, it turned my Alexa on!

Alexa's voice was awful!

Loved the story of the book and the voice for Drake, but Alexa's voice was almost enough to make me stop listening.

I couldn't finish

I was really wanting to hear the rest of the Foster brother's stories. I had started with Changed by You, Kane and Teale.
I 'm not sure if it was Teale's personality but the narrator was breathy but I was able to finish. Teddy Hamilton of course was great! But, I could not finish this book! The narrator for Lex was so dramatic and angsty and breathy...it was so over done I had to stop listening.
Again Teddy Hamilton was good. I really can't give stars for the story because I didn't finish the book.

Just distracting and I wanted relax and enjoy

Narrator Teddy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Narrator Savannah ⭐
As soon as a listener is constantly focused on a narrator's voice for negative reasons, instead of the story being told, I feel like the narrator has failed. Love Teddy! He's one of my favorites. Savannah is a narrator I will avoid in the future. Her overly dramatic, over enunciated, unnatural style of narrating made it difficult for me to get through this story. Her voice actually gave me a headache. Lol. The storyline is a different one and I'm really interested in where it will go. I live for Teddy's chapters where I can relax and emerse myself in the story. If a man spoke to me in Savannah's version of Drake's voice, I'd run the other way. We'll see how long I can hang in to potentially finish this audiobook. I wouldnt happily use a credit on this one.
