Summary

What would you do to protect your family?

Keith Klein, a beat cop in the small New Mexico town of Montaño, sets out to find his missing daughters after they vanish on their way home from school. He enlists the help of Gerald Greenwood, an old friend and a private investigator. When their investigation stalls and desperation creeps in, Keith’s methods become unorthodox, illegal, and extremely violent.

Meanwhile, Keith’s daughters, 14-year-old Carrie and eight-year-old Allison, witness horrors beyond imagination at the Wolves’ Den, a house in the middle of nowhere. In that house, a group of psychopaths in animal masks produce snuff films and other disturbing content for clients across the globe.

Jon Athan, the provocative author behind Dr. Sadist and Lovesick, delivers another dark and disturbing horror novel filled with mystery, suspense, and gore. Can you handle a visit to the Wolves’ Den?

A Tale of Revenge

This book focuses more on torture and revenge for the information he needs to find his kidnapped daughters. There isn't much more to say other than it reminded me of the movie Taken with Liam Neeson. The torture scenes were gruesome and very detailed but I personally don't think they were any worse than watching something like the movie Hostel. I think they may have shocked some listeners because they were described in so much detail but when you're listening rather than seeing they have to be described in detail in order for you to get the full effect of what this father is willing to do in order to get his girls back. If you liked the movies Taken or Hostel then you'll like this book. The narration was not the best, it sounded robotic but if you can get past that the book was good.

I was provided a free copy of this book at my request for my honest and unbiased review.

Into the Wolves' Den

This was a disturbing read. Jon Athan does not disappoint when you want something horrific and gruesome to read. Some of the descriptions were totally horrific and gruesome—kind of like watching a train wreck where you can’t stop listening. I really enjoy Jon Athan’s writing style. He has a knack for writing gruesomeness. This book held my attention throughout wondering what form a torture would happen next.

Harry Roger Williams did an OK job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Needs a different narrator

the story deserved to be read with passion..a good narrator would have made the reader feel the heartbreak, the terror..the emotion!
this did not

Insufferable Narrator Painful Writing

This f**king narrator is absolutely terrible. He sounds like he's reading a kids book. It's a painful listen.
The writing isn't much better it reads like an edgy version of a neil breen film with less nuance if that's somehow possible. It's really not good.

performance was awful

the story lives up to the warnings about the content. The performance was unbearable. I ended up skipping to the last chapter and even at that i skipped ahead.

I'm really torn...

I love me a good violent, crazy, catharic story. That said, the reader sounds like he had speech-therapy with a robot... Then got his masters in reading to other learning-impaired robots.
I understand a little enunciation, but this is effing ridiculous. I am really interested in listening to more of Jon Athan's stories but not with the same reader. Loved the ride, but not the voice that gave it.

Dark, Disturbing and thrilling

This was my first truly dark, horror audible book and I almost finished it in one day. The story is so engrossing you have to know what happens next. Will the girls be found, will the men be caught and will Keith get justice. This is not a book for someone that can not listen to violence - it's a cross between Hostel and Taken if you're a movie lover. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
