About this listen

A kelpie, an incubus, and two wraiths walk into a bar....

Things were going so well until Macey got kidnapped. Again. Except this time, the kidnapper knows exactly why he has her, and none of his plans are good news.

She could wait for her men to save her, but then again, she's not the kind of princess who needs a prince to save the day.

A reverse harem (still) drenched in Scottish mythology. The second book in the Seven Wardens series.

Angus Yellowlees did another amazing job narrating this book. Into the Mists picks up soon after the end of From the Deeps, with Macey waking up in a cell after being kidnapped by Malan (the entity that Macey nicknamed The Voice). The storyline progresses with Macey escaping, connecting with new characters that join her on her quest, reconnecting with her men, eventually finding out new information about her own family history, and learning more about what the roles that the Seven Wardens play in the big picture. Obviously, there is a lot that happens in this book, but it is all laying the groundwork for the rest of the storyline of this somewhat lengthy series (there are 7 books, plus a prequel and a spinoff story). This book was entertaining and provided clarification about some things, but introducing other issues that haven't been resolved yet. It does not end in a cliffhanger, but ends in a way that allows Macey, her men, and her new friends to have a little bit of a break before they start the next leg of their journey. I look forward to reading/listening to the next book in this series and seeing what will happen next to these memorable characters.

A great continuation of the storyline

Oooo the way Angus Yellowlees narrates these characters is just beautiful. The range of accents that he uses for them is great and makes each so very distinctive that you can't mix them up.

This book picks up where the last one left off and moves along at a lickity split. I thoroughly enjoyed following them on their journey as they learned more what is going on and what might happen next. It's a lot for them to take in and adjust to! The characters are great and I loved watching as their relationships grew and changed and I enjoyed the new characters. I look forward to the next book.

Fabulous narration of a great story continuation

I really liked the level of humour and personality in this book. I am struggling to keep up with all the characters and who they are. However this doesn’t take away from the storyline and adventure. Angus is brilliant, he really gives himself to the performance.

Great humour

I am so loving this book 2, I think it is even better than book 1 and that takes some doing.
It doesn't let you go from the outset, packed with action, imagination and sass! written brilliantly by Skye MacKinnon and given wings by the amazing Angus Yellowlees, the characterisation in his narration!

I can't recommend enough!
